Love the Marine Chronometers. A 1511 is a bit of a grail for me. Congratulations!
I just added a quartz watch to my collection! I am fascinated by Omegas development of this watch in the mid seventies. The US-price was 1850 Dollars in 1975. Quite expensive, but it was (is?) the most precise wrist watch ever made. I found this nice sample from 1976 with cal. 1516 in Germany. I love the retro style.

extremely cool watch and can you imagine if your birthday was 7th December 1976!!!! Great piece of documentation with it.
Congratulations, the OMC really is a classic :thumbleft:
Congratulations, lovely watch, I've been looking at the 70s omega quartz watches for a while now. I'd really like a 76 Montreal.
Is the 76 Montreal the Chrono Quartz (for the Montreal Olympics)?Originally Posted by Dave+63

Great piece!
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
That is one very cool watch! I can't help but think of disco Bond Roger Moore when I see it for some reason!

I am not usually a square watch lover.. but I do like this.. and it's brashness!
It's like a digital watch piece.. with the black crystal and the writing.. but with a great vintage Omega look.
Nice piece. :)
That is a very cool-looking watch!
Lovely watch, very special in my opinion. I think that as long as the movement is clean they are very accurate. They are thermally sensitive though i believe. Did you get both certificates? There should be an Omega test results log, possibly in a snakeskin effect wallet if you are really lucky?Originally Posted by soegaard
I would love if Omega would re-issue this watch in a bigger size. Say a 42mm. Everything else the same. Such a timeless dial.
No excuses for being late now!!!!
Those are wonderful, one of the iconic early quartz watches and so cool. :D
Absolutely lovely, a great find!
Mega cool this one! Don't think I would wear it very often but I would definitely want to have one and show it to my friends now and then :) The certificate from the observatory is simply the cherry on the top!
how much is it worth now?
Have you ever seen one???Originally Posted by AZTIME

Any bigger and they could be used as a clock on the wall.
I am lucky because both certificates and the instructions came with the watch in a "snakeskin" plastic wallet :-)Originally Posted by simonsays

Yes, but not ´though´. They are thermo cómpensated. Sensitive to ´correct´ it :idea:Originally Posted by simonsays
They are furthermore very tolerant to lack of mechanical maintenance. The performance is in the electronics, not the lubrication, cleanliness of the gearbox.
Congratulation to the OT.
It makes for a 8) watch to wear. A rugged piece and showing it.
Great watch! And nice that you have the papers! :)
Great watc and piece of horology history, congrats!
I love old cronometers that are not certified by COSC!
