I feel your pain. A long way to go for me but it's not a problem - definitely much better to get involved with the forum first rather than have a bunch of leechers hovering around every post.

It's a fair way of doing it.. just seems like forever when you're finally waiting to get in! As has been said though, keeps away all but the most determined which is a good thing. eBay it aint! :)

Seems as if access to SC will be restricted by post count alone: I've been a member for over 4 years and cannot view it - though a post count of only 80+ perhaps holds the key. Seems a bit harsh on those who, like me, only have 20-or-so interesting things to say per year. At this rate I'll be picking up my pension before getting back into SC! :D

read somewhere it's also 60 days min for 50 posts and 180 days min for 250.
I'm creeping closer again....was a bit of a shock when I lost the ability to post on SC. Having bought a Sub from a member here before, then told I had to wait until 250 posts to buy again was like taking away a credit card!

True - but I thought it was a posts made and/or time served type of formula. I've searched The Rules but can find no answer there. Yesterday I may have stumbled upon a thread which talked about something like, "50 posts / 30 days to view... 250 posts / 180 days to post" but it could just as easily have been a dream.
It's a great idea to restrict access to a sales section - and many forums do it, quite rightly - but may I perhaps suggest that The Formula is pinned somewhere prominent, in order to help new members?
