The ceramic Sub would be so much better without the heavier case; the thicker lugs and crown guard just ruin the lines of the thing for me.

Very nice but prefer my 14060m. This just doesn't seem as sexy.

VERY nice...I have always admired the simplicity and 'honesty' of the real Submariner.

I do like the Sub Date but this is the real deal IMHO.

    Enjoy in peak health!

Amazing how much bigger than the original the new one appears and interesting that most posts denote a preference for the former.

That said, if you are happy then that's all that matters, personally I prefer the dimensions and shape of the original.

Thanks for the comments. Yes it's a 114060 I was surprised to see it in my AD window on fri the first one they've had. I love my vintage rolexs I've had a 1665 a few 5513s and 70s orange hand explorer. The new sub is a great daily beater very well built and Extremely comfortable. I look at it as a new version of the 5512.

Looks OK I suppose, but in terms of aesthetics alone, it falls well short of the 5513 IMO. Of course, in pretty much every other respect it's probably superior, but I buy my watches based on looks, assuming they'll all perform their primary function to an acceptable standard.

Looks good to me mate, much better without the cyclops in my opinion.

Not sure I would classify it as an everyday beater though

Putting it next to the 5513 does it no favours IMHO. It just confirms to me why I'd never want a current Sub.

I don't mean to put a downer on your new purchase and hope that you enjoy it. No-one gives a stuff what I think generally.

Much prefer it without the date and those ugly bubbles.

I think it looks great and I much prefer it to the 5513 - great buy, I am hoping to get the chance to try one soon

    nice one mate

    hope you are well

aint seen one in the flesh as yet but will soon

if its like the sub c and gmtc size it will wear fine for the young and hip of today

still prefer the older cases but the build quality of the new stuff is a cut above
and is more suited to the rigours of everyday life unlike the plexi ones

buy what you like not what others say you should like

    keep well

Are the rigours of everyday life now worse than they were when Royal Navy Divers wore plexi Milsubs to deal with unexploded bombs and sea mines?
