Quick Hello & Hamilton Khaki Question

    Hi all,

Just a quick introduction / hello.

Girlfriend has just very kindly bought me a Hamilton Khaki Navy GMT. I'm looking for a leather strap for the watch.

Having had a quick google on the internet I like the look of the below strap (which I think was posted to the forum a while back, but I can't find it having searched)

Does anyone know where the strap came from / can find the thread?

Any suggestions for strap makers would be welcome too - so far I'm liking the ones on toshi but any others would be great too

Many thanks in advance. Not looking forward to the "challenge" the forum poses to my bank balance!

    Matt

It might be a Hirsch Liberty.

It's not a Hirsch liberty,I'm wearing one of those at the Moment and the colour is slightly different as is the stitching pattern.

Ok, I've had a few of the Liberty straps and looking again the texture, it does looks different.

Could it be a Di-Modell jumbo? If not I could recommend them anyway, not expensive either. Can't remember where I got it but a quick google should bring them up.

It is a Di-Modell Jumbo. I have one myself, great strap if you can get used to the thickness. Built to last too.

There are many variations and they're all here, take your pick:

That is Mikey's photo BTW, where's Mike these days, I wonder?

Yes the thickness did take some getting used to and it seemed to take ages to get it to curve to my wrist properly but it was worth it. I was amazed at the value for money.

Brilliant, thank you to you all.

Last question. What mm width is a Hamilton strap? I've heard it's 21mm and I can't see a Di-Modell Jumbo to that width?

    Thanks

Correct, it is 21mm and a bit of PITA.

I put my Air Race on a 22mm Nato, but I would have thought sticking a generic leather strap it, you would be best with a 20mm if you can't find a 21

I've managed to squeeze 22mm leather and Maratac 'kevlar' straps onto my Air Race without too much difficulty...

Me thinks designers who come up with odd lug widths should be fired
