Congrats on getting married! And California is great....lots of cool and different places to experience if you fancy hiring a car.

We've been to Ibiza ( my first time) for a week, the 'grown-up' way. Hired a nice big villa with some friends in the South (quiet), overlooking sea, mountains. Was very impressed with the place ...can go to some decent bars, restaurants and clubs without feeling like you need to be 18. There are definitely two Ibizas.

Not long after, we went to Mauritius - beautiful tropical island, lazing in resort and some sightseeing. Ideal trip.

Don't think we've got any more holidays for the rest of the year but no doubt a long weekend will pop up somewhere. Might be off to Budapest this month.

Poland on Friday, Istanbul in October, hopefully something in between. I need to spend a few weekends in Sandwich between now and Christmas, so whist not a holiday, I do enjoy it as an opportunity to eat some good curry.

Suppose a change is as good as a rest! Just spent a week in Torquay; lovely despite the odd shower.

The Black Forest. In 1990. Not been away since, except for the occasional night in hospital. It's not very holiday-ish in there...

Just got back from Portugal, ex wife took the kids away so rather than stay here, went off to the old queen's place there.

Off to Dubai in a couple of weeks with all the kids, the outlaws and bro-in-law. Hoping to pick up a Black Bay over there.

I just had 8 nights away split between a Safari in Tanzania and a beach holiday in Zanzibar.

The safari was a truly amazing experience.

    Nowhere and nowhere.

I bloody hate travelling nowadays, so much hassle and hours and hours spent being uncomfortable.

I used to love it years ago but it just seems like such hard work to me now.

My middle son lives in Melbourne beach Florida and has invited us out but I really don't want to go.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Seriously ticked off with airports thanks to work and can't stand the sun so it's staycations for me. Narrowboat last May, Isle of Man next month and St Ives for a glass of Rattler in November.

Almost exactly the same as me... first time to Ibiza, went for 9 days, hired a very private villa about 10 mins outside Ibiza Town and had an amazing time. I was extremely impressed with the quality of food, wine and service available around the island - went to San Antoni once and then quickly ran away. Did one club night, David Guetta at Pacha, which was an incredible show (my GF is a fan, so I got big brownie points), we got a 'VIP' (I hate that phrase) table (which was actually good value) so it wasn't as visceral as it might have been. Highly recommended.

Back for a month then off to Dusseldorf for the Xmas markets.

Have been away quite a bit this year - Monaco/Nice in March, Valencia in April, Barcelona in June plus the ones to come

This year only Turkey for a total of about 10 (possibly) 12 weeks.

Last year managed to fit in a super fast trip round the world with 8 stop off points in 4 weeks, various trips to Europe for short breaks, and Turkey for about 10 weeks.

    Selous game reserve.

The dust comes from us reversing quickly after getting charged by a solo bull elephant.

just got back! one of the best destinations i've been to in Europe and a bit of a bargain place too.
We went over for a friends wedding and i was expecting to spend a fortune as we had a lot of friends in tow but it turned out a lot less expensive than i expected.
In between the drinks sessions we mangaed a good look round the main square area and visited the Schindler factory which was a humbling and thought provoking experience. and the Polish girls....the Mrs had me on a very short leash all weekend....and beware getting trapped in a vodka bar to avoid the rain...17 voddies in 2 hours does not a sober ktmog6uk make...

Went to west coast of Barbados earlier in the year for a belated honey moon (no kids ) - great place, really enjoyed it.

We took the kids (4 of them!) to a 'Holiday Village' in Menorca a few weeks ago which was also great and the kids loved it.

Holidayed out now and have nothing to look forward to :(

On my list for when the kids are grown up. Key West is great - been there many times, the last of which was on a lads 'Spring Break' diving holiday around Florida.
