My PAM214, although it doesn't get many outings these days...
We have had endless threads about beaters.
Whats your elegant/classy watch you wear when you dressy formally for an occasion or work , or just generally the elegant watch in your collection.
(No seiko divers or Rolexs on natos)
I will start;
I wear my IWC Portuguese chrono with blue numerals.
:D :D (not my pic,Im crap at photos )
Im starting to like more dressy and elegant watches.I already own several black divers and sport watches.
My PAM214, although it doesn't get many outings these days...
Away from home so can't upload photos.
Strangely, my most dressy watch for best occasions is also my least expensive...a Stowa Antea. Moving down the scale of dressiness, I've got an IWC Mk XII and a Rolex Milgaus that could be used for certain dress occasions.
IMO a dress watch needs a white face, hands without lume - blued or gold, and preferably not centre seconds.
A lovely Longines :)
I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. I have a few that might classify:
A Breitling (beleive it or not - in a thread about being classy.........)
A GP
A JLC (NB a waterproof one......)
A Zenith EP
There's more, but even I'm getting bored of my post...........

Surprised by the number of chronographs so far.
For me it'd be this one,
Have an ongoing project to find a suitable strap for it.
The one on the right :-)

Tag Heuer Monza Calibre 36
My Rolex Yacht-Master is my dress-watch. I'm not at all into proper "dress watches" so I prefer the functionality of the bezel and gloss of the platinum etc.
JLC RDM, and PP 5146G
This Oris Miles for me:
Sadly it's in need of a service at the moment, so I haven't worn it in a while.

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
I think the Nomos is quite flexible but definitely does classy
Patek Annual Calender 5146J
And of course the 5513 (not on nato)

“ Ford... you're turning into a penguin. Stop it.” HHGTTG
I don't have what I would call a classic dress watch i.e. in the mould of a simple Calatrava for properly formal occaisons - but I think a watch can be classy if it's understated and suitable for wear with a suit etc. Obviously traditional lines are now pretty blurred as it's fine to wear Sub's and PAM's with a suit.
It has to either be the AP 15300 - nice and thin, sporty but classy.
Or my JLC Master Moon - more your classic dress style case, but the complications obviously prevent it being a "dress watch" - the dial is nicely clutter-free though. It's small size makes it fly under the radar.
BTW if I were to have a watch purely for dress occaisons, obviously a Calatrava (or Lange) would be an ideal choice, but a very classy (and cheaper) alternative is the Zenith Ultra Thin.

At the monent my AT, on a leather strap. Looking to add a JLC Master Control or similar at some point still..
Best I can do up against such beauties already shown here.

Either this one :-
or this one :-
Unable to decide between the two, both feel special due to the inhouse movements and Gold content or complications.
Cheers

DeVille Hour Vision
That would be the Connie
or maybe this old fella...
It was an Oris Miles then a Nomos Orion, but I think I've settled on my Perrelet Le Locle.

There are some pretty classy watches in this thread!
For me, the Aquatimer is probably the classiest I have in the traditional sense:
Although the Ingenieur holds its own in classy company despite its brutish looks - a bit like a heavyweight boxer in a Tux - maybe slightly less classy than it thinks, but you wouldn't tell it so to its face.

Can't decide on just one...

Maurice Lacroix Flyback :)
Speedy Pro - on leather:
Omega Seamaster De Ville
and IWC Portofino
Well, the model name is Gran Sport but for me it is Classy enough.
Omega Aqua Terra is suitable and the speedy with black crocodile as well.
I don't have a 'proper' dress watch, as I'm not a fan, so this will have to do...
What a diverse selection! Just shows "eye of the beholder" and all that.
regards,
David
I'd choose from a few humble Seikos :
SBQK079
SARB031
SCVS003
This:
Dear oh dear... I thought I was overweight dress watches... but I think I'm going to go nuts again after seeing some of the great watches in this thread.
Mine would also be a Portuguese with white dial and blue hands (and other bits)
Mine is a Omega Seamaster fm 1956, surprisingly wearable size speaking.
Adam
My one and only dress watch is a TT Datejust on jubilee bracelet with a white, high gloss face and gold roman numeral indices.
Its from 2005 and looks prettly smart whether with jeans or a suit.
Once upon a time it would have been this:
now sold.
Then this:
now sold.
Then this:
also sold
So that just leaves this:
Although, occasionally I'm "naughty"...
Cheers,
