Throwing your money around with abandon again <tuts & shakes head>
Great catch, Fourteen quid.. that's crazy!
Just got this during the week, does anyone know of this company? - Hellas.
Its a NOS watch, almost identical to the early Tag Heuer 1000 series watches, in fact everything but the name on the dial/crown is identical.
Case has the brevet markings inside the caseback, tritium dial, swiss made, ESA 536.121 movement. I suspect its from the late 80's, early 90's but cannot find anything on the company at all.
Also bloody expensive at £14 plus shipping. :) Watch collecting on the cheap!

bargain and charming, good catch indeed
That looks lovely James, what a result!
Thanks Vince,
Just in case anyone else wants one here's the link......

The movement alone is worth having for that price, i've seen a lot of non-working Heuer divers in the past with the same ESA 536.121.
Best,
James.
Wow that looks great, what size are they?,fancy one for a holiday watch.
paging chris in the uk ... paging chris in the uk ...
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Haha, they are 38mm, so smaller than the general 42mm most are used to but they wear very well.
I believe the CWC fat-boy watches used the ESA536.121 movement as well.
Are you based in the uk?,if so what did he charge shipping?.
Thanks for the reply appreciate that, looks like the ideal beach watch to me.
That is a very nice piece and a steal at that price. Very tempting!
Did you buy it based on the ebay photo?
If yes, was a bit of a gamble because you can't tell very much from the photo...
Looks great in your pic!
That looks great...I would have loved to have found that for that money....just about my price range at the moment LOL ..some of us only dream about Omega, Tag and Rolex etc !
Nice one James - can you PM me the source please?
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
It would be interesting to see a pic of the Tag you describe, as I think that watch is almost identical to the old subs.
However I really like it and it's a bargain. The size is refreshing, and I think I'll look into this watch further.
Thanks for the heads up.
P.s - do you know if it's waterproof?

Waterproof to 200 metres, 666 feet according to the dial.
The exact same model is the Heuer 980.014, plexi crystal seen here in the 1981 catalogue -
http://www.onthedash.com/Guide/_Cata.../?show=P03.jpg
It also shares the same case with the Tag version 980.013 and lume dial 980.113 - http://www.calibre11.com/tag-heuer-c...gue-selection/
Best,
James.
It looks great on that strap but was the bracelet that it came with any good?

Thanks. I see it's up to £19 now! We're getting into serious money here.
Ah but there are three watches in the picture so only £6.33 each!
are these authentic watches or chinese knock offs?
Nice pick up James, but you need to get it off that god awful strap and put one of your own on it
Nice to see something named after my country. The value of this watch is more or less our country's annual budget nowadays :p

How would you rate the finish on the case and dial? It certainly looks nicely made in he photos but is it possible that it's actually made up with Tag parts? I'm just tying to work out how a decent Swiss movement came to be in a watch with a slightly ropey bracelet and selling for £19.

Nice watch James and v gd value,
is there a UK supplier please?
Nice watch!
I'm willing to double your investment if you want to get rid of it ;-)
Does anyone know if these area actually 200 m WR ?
It says 666 ft on the dial, so I have no reason to doubt that it is capable to be made WR to that depth (which is approx. 200 meters).
It will naturally need fresh gaskets and a pressuretest.
Why do you want to know? There aren't many people diving that deep and resurfacing ;-)
Hi Markos,
I think it would be better to keep this one as good as possible. I would grab some cheapy to swim with.
Frankly, I think it is a nice vintage watch and I wouldn't risk damaging it.
On the other hand: I use my SMP for diving, so according to some I'm crazy at that point...
I agree, I have a similar way of thinking. Used to wear Vostok amphibians for swimming and diving. Now I'm wearing a G-shock or a SKX007. On the other hand this is a cheapy, much cheaper than these two. But you are right it is better to keep this one safe.
I have an SMP as a daily wearer, but personally I wouldn't use it in the sea.
Are you sure the 7 lug is NOS?

A bargain and looks much better on that strap!
