Anyone seen the new Helson SD40 ?

One flying towards me right now.

Had 3 x 42mm ones, which were great, but I think the 40mm may just be perfect :-) :-) :-)

The Lug to Lug distance looks too long to me and out of proportion to the res of the watch. Nice to see a new 40mm diver though.

It'll be interesting to hear your opinion on the SD 40. Did you find the 42mm too big?

The grey dial, with the slight texturing, looks particularly nice.

I think it will feel better on me.
    It's 73g lighter than the 42
    2.5mm shallower too.
No helium valve, although rated to 500m
    20mm lugwidth instead of 22.

As to proportions..... They all look the same on the comparison shots iMPO.

It was the weight more than the size. Heaviest watch I've owned. Including all the big Breitlings.

Arrived today. Size is perfect now. For me anyway. And the crash diet.... Makes it a lot more wearable.
Apologies for quick iPhone pic :-/

The finish on all Helson watches is great. But they are aimed squarely at the dive/tool watch market, so don't expect any polished surfaces or bling. ;-)

Plus this 40mm easily wears like a (non Helson) 42mm

Very nice! You are pushing me closer to buying one! How is the miyota movement? Does it hack?

Cheers. I like the wide case shape as you look down on it. Enjoy

Nope. Anyone seen the Old WD40?

The creaking hinge on the batroom door is driving me nuts and I can't find the trusty WD can anywhere!

Sorry -couldn't resist - I'll get me coat.

Had it on 20 hours + now. Gained just about 2 secs so far :-)

I had one of the original 45mm SD's. Liked it a lot but man it was a chunk on the wrist. Ended up replacing it with an OS300...which is just a slightly shinier chunk on the wrist

Looks like a good size. A bit more manageable than the bigger size SD's.

Oh dear. Note to self, when making crap jokes at least ensure the spelling is correct.

(Dons coat and closes door quietly on way out)

    Ian ;-)
