This is very nice. Probably not something I would wear, but I do like it anyway. I guess it must be a combination of things, but for some reason I think that the circular date window looks particularly great in combination with the colour of the dial.
(1st post, btw, hi all!)
I've insisted that the crown be changed.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Apologies if missed, is this a screw down crown?
Looks like I might have to buy one after all, personally I do like the crowns that feature on Anonimo bronze watches. I'm not convinced that PVD'ng the crown to make it look bronze is a good idea, kind of smacks of cheapness, Anonimo know they can't have a bronze crown on on brown bronze watch, so they have gone the other extreme and fitted a very large polished stainless steel crown and I think that should be something you should consider for this watch.
Love that thing! Even the date, which I usually prefer not have at all as I never bother to set it.
Just two questions... Eta 2824-2 top means that it's the COSC one? And if so, no chance of having a lower spec and cheaper version like the Miyota you use on the Everest?

I had actually drafted an email to you asking if there was maybe a prototype of the original crown which could be fitted... The Flieger crown was a real let-down on an otherwise beautiful watch. And with an automatic movement, gripitivity isn't that much of an issue to begin with. Excellent decision, Sir.
Am I the only one that's reviewing their collection to make some space for this beauty?
Just when I thought I was not buying anymore TF watches...
Thanks Mark. I like that one better too but I guess the no grip thing was throwing me off... I might have been confusing "gripability" with "pullability" as diamond crowns are always great at that.
If the stainless steel crown has a bronze coloured PVD coating over time will the crown obtain a patina to match the case?

My first TF watch was the PRS14 - with 2824 onboard. I never took it off for about 6 months, and the crown was never an issue; I could see the same happening with this watch - put it on and wear it for ages!
Just need to wait a year now :-)

I much prefer the revised crown. Good stuff.
It's too big, the date looks all wrong and I can't afford it.
Where do I sign?
Just lovely. I can't wait to get my hands on one, soak it with salt water and watch the brass evolve !
Good call on the crown. Once pulled out, it should not be too difficult to grab.
The more I look at this the more I like it, I am sure this will be my first watch from Eddie!
Whilst I understand and fully respect Eddie's decision not to commit to availibity dates, do any of you more experienced fans/followers have a gut feeling of how close this watch is to release?
Great looking watch......with the prototype crown ?
Apart from uncertainty around the style of crown, I have to confess that I'm not mad about the date orientation in the photos.
If 12 o'clock is zero degrees, I look at most of my watches from around 180 degrees, and the date in the intended position works better if orientated 90 degrees to the dial edge, IMHO.
edit....date orientation as shown in the photos would work better if the watch was worn on the right wrist :)
It might just be the mock-up.
If you look at the photo on the first page, the 1 date (i.e. 1st of the month) shown is at what I would think to be the right angle. The photo on the second page with the 8 date (i.e. 8th of the month) seems to be at 90 degrees to what I would expect.
