Thanks fellows but it's only a bad cold. Looks like it's developed into a chest infection though because I was coughing a bit of blood up yesterday and the doctor sent me for a chest x-ray. Got the x-ray within an hour of seeing my own doctor and now I have to wait a week for the results :(
Eddie
Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Get well soon Eddie

Get well Eddie, please take your time to recover, the customers can wait a little as they surely agree that it is of paramount importance that you get well.
A man is not a machine - don´t exhaust yourself.
Hope you get well soon!
Stop being such a wus, a bit of blood never hurt anybody
Get well soon
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Ditto all previous sentiments.

Rest-up and best wishes for a speedy recovery :)
Coughing up a bit of blood, you say? What I wouldn't give to be able to cough up even a wee bit of blood. Why, when I was a lad, we counted ourselves lucky indeed just to be able to have some blood within, much less have any to spare to cough about carelessly... Ususally, we had to get by with our small, under-developed little hearts pumping a bit of dirty bilge-water through our tiny, stringy veins with just enough pressure to hold us together for yet another pathetic day...Originally Posted by swanbourne
Those sorts of things can raise concerns but I hope it's nothing serious and you have a full and fast recovery.
Best wishes,

Speedy recovery Eddie!
I hope you will be back in business asap

I agree it's bloody terrible!Originally Posted by Mrcrowley

I am quite sure a bit of 'jumping up & down' would produce a much quicker result - if you were inclined to do so.
Once upon a time I would never 'make a fuss' & accept what I was told; but no longer. It's a sad reflection, but that is how things get 'speeded up' in the NHS. (I get involved a lot in X-ray transfers when I'm on the emergency bike rota & see this happening all the time, sadly.)
Once again Eddie, a speedy recovery; isin't it nice to have this enormous band of well-wishers!!!! :D

All the best for a speedy recovery Eddie, have just heard that you were unwell.

Good luck for Thursday Eddie and hope you are feeling tip top very soon.
Kind regards
Paul
Hope you recover soon and that the X-rays confirm there's nothing serious wrong.
All the best for a speedy recovery.
Only now collecting and reading mail after a trip abroad.
Yeah, well get your rest and lots of nutrition as well. I don't want to sound like a wisearse or a harbinger of doom or anything, and I'm not calling you an old man, old man, ;-) but you know that as we get older these things can get out of hand if we don't take care of them, and you appear to be taking care of it... So feel better, ok? :)Originally Posted by swanbourne

Get well Eddie,
Lots of Citrus, Iron/protein, soup and sleep.
Some Jack and Coke works wonders!
Is this how they weed out the ones that are too far gone for treatment? :lol:Originally Posted by swanbourne

I had exactly this last winter. Bad cough + blood = chest x-ray.
All clear fortunately but it took two weeks to feel any better and about a month to get straight. :(
All the best.
(Perhaps a medicinal Scotch might help..... )

Eddie you need to see a pharmacist..................
Simon
National Health Service in the UK, I presume? Same in the Netherlands, usually. Here n France though, you go to an x-ray lab which is not in a hospital but in a private practice, they do the x-ray, echo or whatever you need, and you get the report as well as the x-rays photos immediately so you can take them yourself to your doctor, specialist or whoever needs to interpret them. People here keep their medical files themselves. It's faster and it shows more respect for the patient. Suprisingly, it seems to be cheaper than the more centralised way of doing things in the Netherlands, too.Originally Posted by swanbourne

Anyway, all the best and let's hope the x-ray shows nothing out of the ordinary.
Get well soon Eddie!!!
Another get well soon to add to the multitude!
Cheers,
Martin
Take care of yourself.
Hope you are ok and get well soon.
get well soon matey geoff
Eddie -
Let me add my hope that you have a speedy and full recovery. You might find that some Bushmill's Irish, quite warm, with honey and lemon juice provides a large measure of relief. It's a home remedy known even here in the Colonies! All the best.

I like Scotch with hot water, clove, and either sugar or honey. (honey probably the better choice) Irish Whiskey will do very well too.Originally Posted by Grayman
