Welcome, and very nice collection, and that's before you get to the GS GMT, that looks sublime
Doing the intro thing . .
Have been flying most of my adult life, Hanggliders then conventional Gliders (Syndicated into a Duo and an Ash25mi, am an ass cat Instructor) have some hours on power too, this is a buddy flying the Duo, I'm in an ASW19 taking the picture / eating a sandwitch / flying (none of them particularly well)
and again, but closer
Play with toy planes too,
Pretty place Scotland.
I may have "knowing when to stop" issues with toy collections.
Some of the "fleet" in the hanger / garage / mancave
Oilfield trash for a living.
Play with Motorcycles when the weather allows Yamaha MT01, BMW GS1200 and an Ossa 280i works trials bike.
MT01 below.
Work in Oman, Live in Scotland. (28 days in one, 28 days in the other, lots of flying)
Miss my buddy when in Oman
(and the wife / kids too . . *cof* of course)
Learning lots and lots and lots from reading your postings, thanks very much for the info, hope I can help you out one day too.
recently became the owner of a GS sbgm031 to join the 16613 when not wearing the seiko 5 on a grey nato (when it is looking likely that arse will overtake t1t) very happy camper
anyhoo.
Huloooo

Stunning pics, I like them all, and the watch is a treat as well.
Best intro in ages IMHO

Good on you and welcome to TZ-UK mate

Welcome to the forum, Roy. Nice intro you have written there - 28 days off every four weeks you say? I certainly wouldn't mind that...

Welcome mate, however, you do realise those aeroplanes have no engines?! Did it fall off :o)

Real pilots don't need engines.
Welcome mate, however, you do realise those aeroplanes have no engines?! Did it fall off :o)
Tho, the Ash25mi may have a donkey stashed in the back.
Welcome to the forum; with a first post like that I believe you should fit in here?
Hi and welcome, great first post.
Let's see some piccies of the classic Ossa
You can never have enough engines. I only fly something with 4-engines because there aren't any I can fly with 5.
Welcome to the forum...great first post.
Great post
oh, and welcome
Hello from an English Aberdonian that currently works a rotation in a hot place too, but Kuala Lumpur.
Welcome to the Forum.
You'll spend more time on it than you think.
Fascinating interesting and super guys.
Getting onto BA's "venerable" (read, ancient) 777 that trundles to / from the sandpit on a daily basis, I always have a chuckle to see ETOPS on the left hand front gear door.
think originally it was for "Extended Twin engine Overwater Passenger Service"
Universally taken to mean now "Engines Turn Or Passengers Swim"
Quote from F16 pilot put into a hold as a B52 declared an emergency due to an engine failure.
"Ah, the dreaded 7 engine landing"
As he cruised around atop his faithful single donkey.
Hi and welcome to the forum.
I think we share same hobbies...at least the model aircraft flying and I had a go at soaring too, but still thinking what is the best way to get certified.
Could ask you via PM...
Hello and good day to you sir.

Click on the link above to find your nearest club, when you show up, tell them you are keen and want to learn, this will separate you from the tourists, who just clog the system up.
Me:
Picture I was taking at the time (note the wingtips of the two gliders, probably doing about 80mph at the time, IIRC we were at about 11,000' waiting for the startgate to open on a race.)
I'd hired the clubs Discus as a syndicate partner had the Duo for the weeks racing :-(
glider pron, just "because" . . taken from the Duo.
(yes, I did take the photo)
you can get silly in gliders too . . . . .
The "clangers" noise is the audio vario (tells me whether I'm going up/down whether I need to fly faster / slower) audio to save having to look at it all the time.
Radio chatter is standard on any weekend, at about 2:30 in to the video the effect of racing for 3 hours had set in, that and the fact that the last 60k of the race was a handout from where I was.
Video taken looking over the Great Glen (Glen More) from a point above the Cairngorms, you go down in there, you are toast. (moral, don't get low)
exceptionally pretty place is Scotland.
[adopting native dialect for a second]
Fit like, loon!
[resume normal service]
Welcome aboard, a few ABZ locals on the forum here.
Did gliding up at Aboyne in 5th year projects week, crikey that was a lifetime ago!
I think Buxton is the nearest one to MANCHESTER, but last one I visited was in Penrith and flying over Eden valley was fantastic...shame it's too far. (and having a baby doesn't help...I can get more serious about it in couple of years. Models will have to do for now )
I never comment presentations (too many, too lazy) but this one is worth a comment: Welcome!
Welcome to the forum, Roy.
Welcome to the 'club' !!!
Welcome to the forum Roy, great introduction info, very interesting. Enjoy your time here!
Matt
Set the GS when I recieved it via timeanddate.com 10 days ago.
Just checked today, it has lost 1/2 a second (total) in 10 days.....
Jings, that is a bit good.
The oem strap was a pain (literally) now on a Hirsch, which seems ok, if it annoys me it'll be on a NATO.
Hi, welcome to the forum, great introduction!
Another local here, Montrose, working in Aberdeen, been up here 3 years now and loving it. You're right about it being a beautiful place
Now that's an introduction! Welcome aboard, you've got some interesting hobbies there.
