Just had a closer look and with gift aid it's £14k!!!

    All great news.

That is a great choice for the new fundraiser.

Regarding future fundraisers, I do think that at least two of any five future fund raising charities should be UK wide, just like the present selection. It just makes things fair as UK contributors are from every part of the UK.

My first choice is The Alzheimer's Society. Having worked and lived with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia for over fifteen years, the families do need all the support they can get too.

Out of interest, what's the target this time?
£10k was amazing for a kick off, but I sincerely doubt we'll hit that every month (sadly) unless a fee for SC is imposed?

Is £5k a realistic monthly target?

Interesting you say that, it's possible to make SC a "paid subscription only" forum in vB. It's more likely now than it was a month ago.

    Oh no!

Actually rather than a subscription I think a levy as a percentage of sales would be the ticket (I don't know how easy it would be to implement) as then the people who gain the most by selling multi thousand pound watches on a regular basis whilst avoiding ebay charges would pay more than the poor sod who occasionally sells a pair of secondhand socks or whatever.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Fantastic achievement, who really cares about watches anyway - there are much more important things to consider. This is really what matters!

The fundraiser closed on 30 September 2013, having raised £5867.01 (£7160.24 including gift aid). a splendid effort once again.

I've reactivated the first fundraising page to run up to Christmas and would like to see the grand total hit £20,000.

You can click through from the banner at the top of the forum pages or if you can't see the banner, the link is: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/TZ-UK

    Let the fundraising begin.
