That looks magnificent, congrats
I'm just getting into the whole 70s scene too and I'm truly spoilt for choice.
There's just something about that era that's pretty interesting.
Just got this 'little' beauty from Tom (dickstar1977) as I really wanted to try something from the 70's Omega catalogue.
Tried out the Lobster first, but didn't quite gel with it so I mentioned that I really fancied one of the Speedy mk series, but would love something with a blue dial. He mentioned one of his Speedsonic's was being serviced at STS and reckoned I'd probably like that. So after a few emails back and forth I part-ex'd the Lobster with him for the Speedsonic
The whole vintage world is very new to me, and must admit that when I first saw the faded tritium hour markers and hands I wasn't entirely filled with joy. But having worn the watch for the last couple of days all I hardly notice it, and the main thing that goes through my mind is the shape and finish on the case, which is exceptional.
The other stroke of good fortune I had was when looking for a strap to put it on. Contacted James (db10) and he's sorting out a blue rallye strap at the moment, which I can't wait to see. But then a blue Toshi came up on SC which I had considered getting instead of the db10, so contacted David (Dai Capp) on Saturday to see if it was still available and it turned up yesterday.
As a side note also want to say that both Tom, David and James were incredibly helpful and nice people to deal with, and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Will post this in H&V as well, but thought it was also worth mentioning in the thread.
(Apologies for crap photos)
Cheers,
Tris

Yeah, they did come out with some interesting designs and movements during that period; as a musician I love the fact that a tuning fork is running the mechanics of the watch.
Good luck with whatever you decide on.
Fantastic.
Wish you health to wear it :)
Very nice looking watch, I love those 70s designs, much more appealing than the modern design
I quite want a Speedsonic, though I would probably go for a Lobster, given the chance/funds/being in the right place at the right time when Tom has something for sale...!
That one looks ace though, and I really like the dial. Omega made so many wonderful designs in the 1970s, especially their electronic watches.
Looks good Tris- it has loads of character. Love that faded tritium.
It'll go well with that 6602 I stupidly sold to you
Well, I vaguely remember Tom mentioning a Speedsonic Lobster, might be worth a PM. The Lobster I originally bought from him was the 3-hander - very rare, but unfortunately it didn't fit my wrist amazingly well.
I'm thinking maybe a Heuer at some point in the future... possibly a Pasadena
Tris
She's really is a beauty, The Speedsonic is (IMHO) a massively undervalued member of the Speedmaster family, the first electronic Chronograph by Omega and a Chronometer too boot! When new they really were the top of the range Omega chronograph and everything about them speaks of this, the build quality is stunning and the design is right up my street! This one is a great example, it has been fully overhaulled by the forums own F300 specialist KeithT and the case has been refinished to factory specifications (using the factory equipment) at STS
Really glad you are pleased Tris
Back int the day:
Speedsonic: £190
Moonwatch: £124
So I guess thats a good £3000 by todays money
Cheers Tom
Thats a stunning piece, the strap looks great as well..
Aye, they're great. My most frequently worn watch. Look after it!
Chris
Cheers Chris
I think this also may turn into my most frequently worn watch, which is currently a battle between my PRS-3 and my black bond SMP :-)

Those Speedsonic Omega's are awesome and yours is no exeption! Congrats with this stunner :)
The 70's design is superb! I dont get tempted that often with a quartz but this is something else.
Nice mate, looks good on your wrist. Gratz :)
vintage watches really rocks.you get a lot watch for the money, at any brand
70's Omega's are definitely my favourite period, some great watches.
Tom is a very bad man, who I'm sure will get a mention in any divorce papers should my wife ever get sick of me. 😄
