I'd get rid of the one on the right - because I like the red writing on the one one on the left - simple as that! (I actually at a glance don't know if theres any other difference!?)

Same here - nothing special for me Paul but if you really want to keep one, it's your call.

Hard to go on just those pics without handling, but those bracelets are expensive to repair/replace so maybe keep best bracelet and head?

Get rid of the one on the right. Prefer the smaller "PROFESSIONAL" on the bracelet of the left hand watch

Keep the old one. Personally i dislike the applied indices or the red seamaster script of the new one and as you can see from other replies most other people like the newer model so you would probably get a better price for it.

I don't know which one is old or which one is new but I prefer the shorter hands on the one on the right.

I wasn't being un-polite!,I was just stating that I actually don't like the black version. But having said that I do like the 2254/64 in the black! and I think that might have to do with how the hands and plots look against the black, for me anyway.

Strange how the written word can seem be taken the wrong way!.

I don't like the stuck on plots etc,not sure whether the red writing bothers me tbh.Only subtle changes over the first gen but enough to
make you choose one over the other.

    Keep the newer coaxial one.

Sometimes some of the older models look really nice with aged lume and favourable patina, but I am afriad (in these photos anyway) your original looks a bit faded and past it. The red writing of the coaxial makes the dial pop.

  21. #21
I prefer the old one. Not keen on the applied indecies. Not overly keen on the red writing (although would not be a deal breaker for me) and prefer the proportions of the older hand set.

Apart from slight fading to the bezel on the 1st gen they are actually in the same condition tbh.

I'd get rid of the new one simply because I quite like the subtle look and faded bezel insert of the older one.

That does it the ''new'' one will leave the nest soon.I also prefer the faded bezel, rather like the way a faded bezel is the dogs on a Rolex.

Keep the older one; shift the newer one. I don't like the applied indices and I like that the minute hands points towards the time rather than being on it.

Definitely the old one, applied numerals give it that extra something that your paying for!!

Better dial/marker/hand proportions on the smaller watch.

    +1....and it's a newer watch too.

Keep the old classic one. It just has that more iconic look. They are both quartz aren't they? The option of the keeping the better conditioned bracelet with which ever head you choose is a good one.

    The old one.

Don't like the applied bits and red writing on the later version.

    A bit like the difference between a 5513 and a 14060.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Keep the left one. Face-lift version...nicer caseback, red writing, longer minute hand, applied indices

bracelets are as good as each other so no need to inter change anything.

This thread just perfectly illustrates just how personal tastes vary:

"I hate, get rid" v "I love, must keep" X or Y for exactly the same reason coming up several times over for all sorts of little details.

Much as I think this is a fine watch, the sword style hands do look better imo opinion too, so if selling both and getting a different version is an option, then perhaps that's what would work for me. Pain in bum, but of course you would also get the excitement of an "incoming" which is always fun :D

Keep the old version as the applied indices don't quite look as good and the 2531 will be a classic one day.

Good stuff, I thought both looked in pretty good condition, the 2541 looks in great nick for an older watch. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference, 2264/2541 are getting harder to find in quality condition and are a bit more classic so if you like the older painted dials it might be nicer combination to find a 2264 to go with it. IMHo all the new dials are great in their own way but they also lost a little something along the way when they started applying markers...and in the newer versions when they started putting gloss on everything.
