Zenith El Primero trio, back from Duncan's

A while back I sent away three of my favourite watches for a little bit of TLC by Duncan at Genesis watchmaking. I have been missing them a lot, and today they finally returned home. I couldn't resist taking a couple of quick photos with the iPad as I once again reacquainted myself with them (I may take some better snaps later on).

So, here we have an A386, and A385 and an A3817. I think they're some of the most beautiful watches ever made. And I think all the reissue models of these watches are great too... Though there's nothing quite like the original thing!

Needless to say, everything that Duncan did to the watches exceeded expectations, as usual.

Anyway, now I'm going to struggle to figure out which one is going to hit the wrist first! :)

I have to say that the bronze(?) sunburst dial in the middle looks absolutely beautiful! Very nice.

Simply stunning. Any one of them would do me just fine, thank you! But 3?! Thanks for sharing.

    Wow - those are stunning.

You're making me depressed though as my gold one has gone, and the other two are both up for sale :(

I had been thinking that I am going off chrono's. That has been well and truly rescinded with these three. Very lovely indeed.
As for which one to wear first, make a statement and wear all three!

Very, very lovely. I'd struggle over choice too.

Good grief! The A386 has been on my hit list for a very, very long time and I'm insanely jealous.

    Superb.
The one in the middle gave me the longing feeling in my stomach that got me into watches in the 1st place.

I am astounded that you let all three go away at the same time!

Three stunners. The El Primero in a retro case does it for me.

Off to search for Zeniths! They are absolutely gorgeous. Do you really need all 3?

They are lovely, all of them
But that 386 is really something else altogether.
    The perfect vintage chrono.
Irreproachable movement and maker, great colour style and detail.
    Just great

Thank you for all your nice comments, everyone!

FYI, I ended up wearing the A385 (the one in the middle) for a few days. :-)

I really don't have a favourite. The A386 is probably the most iconic and the most sought after out of the three. It's a rally nice watch, with a timeless design that wears large and comfy on the wrist. The A3817 though is still the rarest of the three, as they only made 1000 of them (against 2500 for the A386). The thing about the A385 and A3817 case is that it might look less appealing in photos, but on the wrist it looks stunning. I might even admit to liking the A3817 slightly better than the A386 when it's on the wrist. It's one of those things that one really needs to see in the flesh.
