I have a feeling it's a repeat, but thanks for the nod.
Is this a repeat or has something similar been on recently? Should be interesting. Formula 1 was still exciting back then.
I have a feeling it's a repeat, but thanks for the nod.
I've definitely seen it before. Still well worth a watch though.
It's definitely a repeat. I posted a link to the original iplayer viewing a few months ago, when they were just starting to wind up the Rush PR.
It's still worth watching again. Especially if you've only recently seen Rush.
It is the first time I have seen it so I am enjoying it thoroughly
Lauda racing four weeks after the accident and Hunt asking someone for a cigarette whilst on the podium......
It's particularly wonderful for the needle between Caldwell and Forghieri!
Great show. Thanks for the notice.
Enjoyed that immensely , good shout .bring those days back I am v bored with F1 today.
They were the respective heads of the Dirty Tricks Departments of the two teams - I admit to being biassed, but Alastair gives the impression of it being a bit of a lark, whereas Mauro seems much more bitter (they lost, and Lauda was lucky to live, so there are reasons for that).
BTW I've just been reading Tyler Alexander's photo book on McLaren, which has got some good images of the team's early years: http://www.amazon.co.uk/McLaren-Insi.../dp/1935007181
...and for a wonderful interview with Alastair Caldwell have a look at the recent podcasts by Peter Windsor (The Racers Edge on iTunes). He's very uninhibited.
Why is it not available on Iplayer :( thought i had my lunch break sorted
It's on BBC4 again tonight, 2200 hrs.
Thanks OP watched this on Sky last night. Well worth watching.
B
Thanks for the heads-up, looking forward to watching this in a while.
I hadn't seen this before, but watched it last night. Brilliant. Must go and see Rush now...
Watched it last night, very enjoyable and worth seeing.
Indeed. But I am old enough to remember the '76 season very well. I followed the battle throughout the year (supporting Hunt of course), with occasional reluctant pauses for my A Levels and enthusiastic pauses for, um, non-curricular activity that we needn't go into here. That was a good year. Except for the A Levels.
Thanks for the heads-up on this: I watched it when it first went out a few weeks ago and again last night on iPlayer, which means that I've watched it both before and after seeing Rush
No problems with that - it's not as if nobody knows what happens!
I also 'lived' that season live, partially while sweating under the tiles in my university top-floor accommodation in that hot summer, and I remember it well.
This BBC program was great but Rush was just superb IMO.
this is one of the great documentary's, well worth watching again.
The documentary is much better than the film.
What a great documentary, didn't see this post or it on before but if anyone missed it, its well worth a watch.
Even the misses enjoyed it!
Forgot about this and went to watch it on the iplayer and it's not available! Anyone know why at all?
Not sure why not, perhaps it will come up later? We caught the end of this and enjoyed it a lot. It is amazing how F1 has changed over the years, and not always for the better.
I saw last time and watched it again. Great stuff.
Anyone who hasn't seen it needs to go to On Demand. It's well worth it.
Missed this so will catch it on iplayer -Thought Rush was great so will be interested to see how it compares.
Will watch tonight if I can find it. Thanks for pointing it out.
Really good programme with some fabulous unseen footage, very much enjoyed.
