Nothing to report Bernard. I promise, it will be posted here when there is.

    Any new news?

After a lot of lurking, I finally registered so I can ask this question:

Any new news on the DN GMT? Any inclination on when it might be available?

About a month ago I posted elsewhere a WTT, one of my slightly used kidneys for a good condition DN, but then I heard about the upcoming GMT. Needless to say it sounds like a good chance to own a version of the watch I have long coveted, and at the same time keep all of my organs intact. So any info would be appreciated!! And I am sorry for having to ask, because I understand it must be exhausting to have the same question repeated endlessly, but I figured its been a month and a half since the last notice and my anticipation has gotten the better of me.
    Thanks!!

    Brendan

Well, I learned today that a watchmaker has been found who can modify the movement as I want it but I don't have any timescale for this project yet.

Is there a waiting list for the Dreadnought?

I know it's probably been discussed but I'm a little slow catching up.

The PRS-2 Dreadnought has been sold out for years. The upcoming Dreadnought-GMT (as it's referred to, there is no official name as yet AFAIK), is not a limited edition and so will be available to everyone.

Thanks but I knew that. I was referring to the new DN.

That is the new DN! :) The original DN was a LE of 200, and LE means LE for Timefactors!

Rather than release a new LE or non-LE DN with (for example) a slightly different coloured dial (are you litening, DOXA? (Sorry!)), and devalue the original, the new DM will be a GMT.

In the range of paint (Winsor & Newton) that I usually use, there are enough different blacks, or black like paints, to keep one in business for years making LEs with slightly different coloured dials: Payne's Gray (black with some blue, my favorite), Blue Black, Mars Black, Ivory Black, Bone Black and Perylene Black.

    Best wishes,
    Bob

    LEs or LEs

I believe this is the logic that has been applied by Poljot in the past for its 1,000 piece LEs. Do I understand correctly that it has been implied elsewhere that a certain four letter word watchmaker may be taking the same liberties?

Remember, our interpretation of our 'common language' may differ from yours.

all these years ive been coverting the seamaster as my "grail" watch. Its always been out of my league money wise, although my wife did say that she would get me it for my 40th.

I think that i can honest in saying that the Dreadnought is now my grail watch. I dont think that i have seen a more stunning watch then the DN. I did harbour thoughts of buying one on the sales forum, but am unable to afford one (and they dont come up that often.) Im gonna have to say though, that when the DN GMT does finally arrive im going to have to have one! It is truley a stunning watch, and (i think) a work of genius

So....its pack up smoking time for me, and a DN when they arrive with the money saved.....

I apologise for asking but I have a watch habit which needs breaking. It's a vicious cycle

Here my take/hopes on a possible Dreadnougt GMT:

    1. a IWC GST-like bracelet with velcro link option
    2. a more streamlined case like the Sinn U-series and IWC Aquatimer
    (i.e. seamless case/lugs/bezel integration)
    3. crown at 4 o'clock WITHOUT protective shoulders
    4. no-nonsense dial (BUND/Plongeur design, NOT Milsub(Rolex) design)
    5. titanium case
    6. maybe a luminated am/pm indicator

The only £35/week habit I can afford.... is food :)

Niicce, nextcube! :) Might be more helpful with a 12 hour bezel, though. Looking good, though.

You won't succeed: the DN GMT won't be a limited, so no list and no limited edition watch for you ;)

There isn't even a list to get on...

That looks like too much like a SINN, not enough like a DN.

Interesting. I see much "IWC Ocean 2000" DNA in that picture.
    Cheers,
