You've certainly had it rough in America, although I almost think snow / cold would be preferable to almost solid rain & floods.

Wow - lots of snow over there! Here's about as bad as it's got on western Lake Ontario so far - it was the week before Christmas when temperatures went to -25 degrees Celsius (and over -30 with the wind chill )..

Makes our UK winter look rather tame
Looks pretty in some photos but I wouldnt like it at all
I would prefer snow to rain and wind. But... I'd much prefer nice warm outdoor weather all year round, so I could ride a bike and go for runs etc. any time I felt like it.
It's just a matter of time...
That is harsh, shockingly bad winter in a lot of the US this year.
I hate snow and fortunately we haven't had any here........... yet.
Cheers,
Neil.
Funny thing is, the winter is really much like we used to have as a kid in the '70's.
It's on it's way here in the uk - A66 was covered today - snow ploughs out......get ready....
Thanks Neil, it snowed after i read your post!
Still no snow around where I am in Wiltshire UK, has just been wet and cold for the past three weeks. Very depressing!
My prediction is we will get some proper snow in February, as it hasn't really turned that cold as of yet.
I don't mind the cold or the snow, it's the getting into work in the dark and leaving work in the dark that makes me hate winter. Bring on the summer nights when there is time to have a beer in the sunshine after work.
I am also sick an tired of the cold and the snow. We had major ice in the Great South Bay, I have not seen that since I was a kid in the 70's. Today it is supposed to warm up a bit but then reverse and freeze up again.
It's coming Ron. Dropped to -20 today and it's passing over on the way to you.
*Sigh*
Only 6-8 weeks or so of this left (he says hopefully)
We haven't really had too much snow in the Boston area this winter but it's definitely been colder than usual. This past weekend we had to cancel my son's annual Boy Scout snowshoeing/backpacking trip up in the White Mountains due to the cold. Sunday morning temperature got down to -10F (-23C) with wind chill around -25F (-32C). Not that that is epic cold but definitely too risky for me considering I had to watch over a group of teenage boys out in the elements for several hours. It's a shame because we always look forward to this trip.

Does make our "winter" look amateurish!!! (but we all still moan about it like hell!!!)
Out the front door....above the picket fence.
Help?
^ That looks like my yard after the first real snow this winter. It had drifted so high on the front of my house that the door had three feet of snow in front of it. Fortunately the side door was almost totally clear (large trees prevented the wind from blowing that way). Thank god for snowblowers.
