Congrats!
It a beauty :)
Hi everyone. I had the opportunity to buy Joe's DN a few days ago and jumped at it. #157 now resides in friendly Minneapolis Mn. USA. He was an original owner and the watch has spent 99.5% of it's time in storage. I have admired this watch for quite some time and was very excited to be able to get it. I
I can't believe how bloody well built this tank is. I expected it to be sturdy but I think after wearing it for a while my left arm will be bigger than my right from doing arm curls.
I think several high end watch companies should be ashamed of their packaging. The box set the DN came in makes my Rolex boxes, well look cheap.
As my screen name suggests, I am a big Doxa fan (vintage & new) as well as own several other dive watches. Married w/ two little girls & our two Gordon setters.
I just wanted to take a sec and introduce myself. Some of you know me from the Doxa forum..Doxa600tDiver..To all the rest, I look forward to getting to know you. :)
Cheers,
David
Welcome David, and nice catch - looks in mint condition. Enjoy wearing it.
After you've worn it a bit, a comparison between the DN and a modern Doxa would be welcome
Welcome David
The club is small and i promise not to do Doxa LE jokes.
The DN was a pioneer and there are nowdays better dive watches for a lot less money but Eddie Platts drive, determination and innovation is not quantafiable ( Eddie do that earn me a free gift) you have a piece of horological history my friend.

Very nice David - welcome to the club :)
As you say #157 looks to be in excellent condition :thumbright:
Welcome to the forum David, what a great entry.
Eddie
Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Welcome to the forum David. What a great piece to, ahem, "dive" in with!

Welcome David!! Congrats on your piece of true watch history!!
Have to say... I´m a bit envious ;-)
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
Hi David,
Welcome to the exclusive owners' club.
Yes, the DN is quite a watch, and I will always keep it as part of my collection.

Hi #157 and welcom from #160 :D :D
Welcome aboard David, wear your DN in health. :) :)
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Thanks to all for the warm welcome.
Martin, I won't take any Doxa LE jokes personally. Funny how when a watch becomes sold out, they keep seeming to come up with one or two more.
The Dread is an icon and I was fortunate enough to get Joe's. It is in 98% condition or better. I believe watches are made to be worn. I already hit the door handle to my office and made a tiny scratch so the first one is out of the way!
I will post a comparison of the Dread to my Doxa's after I have spent some time with it.
Cheers,
David
Welcome. I'm going to put mine on when I get home.
Nice piece. Welcome, from #199.
