    PRS-17C - brief review

Arrived today, with 12 hour bezel and a black leather timefactors aviator strap.

I'll be brief- love it! It looks far better in the flesh, perfectly proportioned.

The yellow on the hands is striking but not overpowering. The overall effect is quality. The black face is gorgeous.

    Thanks again Eddie.

Congrats on your purchase, I've got a Gen 1 which is my work, shooting and hill walking watch. If you like bracelets, get a Lumpy ASAP and you won't know you're wearing it - it's THAT comfortable.

I won't achieve One Watch Nirvana but I might achieve it using 2 or 3 - the 17C would be one of those. For the money, it's a steal.

He did say he'd be brief! :)

Anyway, I just picked up a 17C s/h c/w bracelet off GeoffD. This is my first 'proper' watch (albeit not mechanical so some of you may discount it) apart from cheap Casios.

I am a non WIS (would that be a WUS?!) and after crawling the net looking at various styles (and having spent some time at Easter in Hong Kong and Singapore looing at all the various watch shops) this was the one I wanted, for it's looks. I'm not denying I rather liked the Sinns, Breitlings, Omega PO's and TH Carreras; but I'm not a badge/label whore either, and in the VFM rankings, I don't think the 17C can be beaten.

I can understand how some of you who like larger watches might not like the size of the 17C, but I have an 8" wrist and find it not shouting 'look at me'. I think I may try a couple of different style straps (brown & black leather) on the watch and take it from there.

Now, have I caught the bug? What for my first mechanical?!!

The Di-Modell Chronissimo makes a great combination with the '17C......
