    G Shock ebay restoration

Hi, just thought I'd share some pics of a watch that I bought on ebay.
I've been on the look out for a classic DW-6600 after seeing plenty of posts on here extolling the virtues of this G Shock model and also after spying this watch on the wrist of the great Jack Bauer on 24.

As it's not made anymore my only hope was ebay as they seem to be pretty rare nowadays.
A search turned up a non working watch with a battered case that had been "reliable when I used to wear the watch" according to the seller.....
I set my limit and waited for the auction to end.
    I won it for £2.49!

This is what the watch looked like from the ebay photos.

A couple of days later I received it and removed the bezel which split apart almost as I touched it and popped a battery in to find everything worked fine. There were a couple of faint scratches on the glass which didn't bother me.

Two days later courtesy of Tiktox a new bezel and strap was fitted.

I now have an as new classic DW-6600 which cost me approx £25, all ready for many years of service.

    Andy

    Unhappy

That's an amazing transformation, I've gone through quite a few G shocks over the years and when something stops working for example, the pushers ive just thrown! Doh
Are spares readily available for most of the common G shocks?
    Thanks.

Great job, I'm sure you could sell it for a fair profit back on the bay, but nicer to keep it for yourself and know you got yourself a bargain!

Excellent work, that man! A nice G well restored.

Worth noting that bezels for the DW003 are very hard to find. I have an old one with a split bezel, proving hard to find a replacement.

Nice work, I'd have been more willing to spend my £2.49 betting that smashed-up looking thing was borked! More fool me!
