Good idea Eddie; a broken mainspring is why my Plasmir Milgraph never gets wound up. If you're using a screw down crown, there must be something to protect the mainspring from getting broken. There's nothing like a $1,000 watch that won't run when the spring doesn't respond when you wind up the watch crown by showing resistance so that you know the watch is fully wound.
