I've heard rumours of a new Sumo but not seen one before. Where is this pic from, and any idea when it will be released?
Sort of sumo mixed with 62mas and 6105

This pic I stole from a watchuseek thread, release is January supposedly
I wish the hands had the long base over their centre, 62mas style
I like that a lot, but it looks like they've made the same mistake they made with the "Sumo" — 20mm lugs/bracelet when the watch really needs 22mm.
I have just secreted a little . What is it with the new Prospex logo though ? I don't like it
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
May as well ignore the stock Seiko photo, they always make their watches look crap
I just love the Sumo but I'll not be rushing out to buy one of those. It just doesn't send me wild.
Still think it could do with 22mm lug width IMO :)

What's the difference in spec between the 2nd gen and these new monsters ?
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
The monster catalogue pic seems to suggest it uses a 6r15. Weird
In all seriousness, a sumo case, with that dial and handset, and without the ugly sumo bezel, and with a sapphire crystal might be the watch that gets me wearing seiko divers again. Looks awesome. Should be released in January 2015?
I like the new Sumo, hands and all. I am also quite happy with my 1st generation Monster although I'd quite like to have it with a sand blasted or PVD finish.
I have never been keen on the Monster's so the new models with cyclops are not for me, but I do like that new Sumo. I look forward to some good quality photo's of it.
I prefer the old one, it just looks unbalanced to me :-/
I like this new sumo bezel, always found the font on the current sumo too big.
As ugly as ever!
As above, they've missed the chance to fix what, to me, is the biggest issue with the Sumo: 20mm lug/bracelet on quite a big watch.
I actually prefer the current dial/hands.
The bold bezel font is distinctive to the Sumo - if I bought one and didn't get on with it, I could easily swap the bezel insert.
I'd prefer sapphire but it's not a deal breaker - if it came to it, I could have a sapphire crystal dropped in.
But something as fundamental as lug width you're stuck with.
If Seiko had gone to 22mm for this edition I might have bought one and swapped in the current dial and hands.
Does anybody know if there are any choice of colours?
With release in Jan 2015 I guess production of the present Sumo will end? Blumo here we come.
Would the name only be adequate on the dial too?,and that applies to any watch.
I don't need to be told it's a diver and automatic and the depth on the dial IMO.
I can see its a diver and presumably I would know that I've chosen an automatic!.
I suppose it's all about how balanced the dial looks hence the wording.....but sometimes it's just too much, and anyway do we read it?.
Isn't being under strapped sort of traditional for seiko divers?
The 6105 was a 44mm case with a 19mm bracelet.
I was just about to say that!! Simon Cowell has a deal with them for sure!!😄
I prefer the old Sumo to be honest and unlike a few here the 20mm bracelet has never bothered me in the slightest??
I do like it but leave the Scuba on the dial for me and lose the X Factor connection!!

That new Sumo looks interesting, although I'll reserve final judgement until some real-world pics appear when it's released. That scan probably does it no justice at all.

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
Love the new monster, hate the new sumo. Those hands are ugly. They should have looked like that of a 6105 instead (sharp edges, lume on the seconds hand tip).
edit: just noticed the cyclops. Not OK.

80,000 Yen = 465 GBP. Sounds interesting. (60,000 Yen for the Monsters is 347 GBP, btw) I mean, how long will it take before Rob from Monsterwatches or Magi from Solojapan (European part of eBay) will offer them for less...
