    Purple haze

I just love the way this dial looks. Couldn't resist trying it on in work today!

Indeed something a bit different and works great with a suit.

Im a big fan of the petrol blue version of that dial - so much so that I nearly bought one on a whim the last time I was in the states.

That purple version really works - and the way the dial on these things reflects light means that, depending on what angle its viewed from, its going to look a different colour.

Been a fan since I saw the Basel threads. I also like the yellow version.

I love the blue as well. These "basic" Oysters are like cut price stella dials to me! I think with the right leather strap it would look fantastic to

So you have both? Win-win situation.
And they represent what rolex do best - steel watches with classic proportions and no access to the bling that so badly lets the brand down.

    superb pair of watches.

That's a great colour I saw this one in Goldsmiths it's lovely. Is it not referred to as red grape?

Have to say, that's very eye catching. And kind of playful.

Love that purple dial. I checked the reference and somehow it's escaped my notice that OPs use the same cal. 3130 as the Sub ND.
That blue dialled OP with the arabic numerals could easily be considered a dressier 36mm Explorer, for those who don't like the upscaling on the 214270.

Is that the pink grape? I've got one spirited away for the wife for Christmas. I might get a leather strap or another bracelet so I can nick it. Looks lovely.

I rather like that double baton purple dialled number... Does anyone happen to know the reference number?
    Thanks

Absolutely, it's the double batons that really bring the dial to life for me. Deep colour of the dial gives them real impact.

I think you would need matching shoes and a lilac silk shirt to pull it off.
