Depends whether they are glued or welted, British made or made elsewhere. Which shoe is it?
I have a pair of Northampton made brown suede biker boots and they are outstanding quality.

OS are great shoes. I have around 15 pairs and never been disappointed.

They look well constructed like mine and have a storm welt too (at least it appears so) for extra protection when trampling through bogs etc ;)
I love my Sweeneys, decent all round although I find the toughest brogues are Grensons.
I bought the same about a month ago. First couple of wearings were a little uncomfortable but can now wear them all day- very comfortable.

Had them on for a few hours in the house after delivery (as recommended) and a couple of hours today.
They are really comfortable, I like them a lot, very vintage looking leather.

OS are very good, IMO.
They used to be superb, then IIRC Mr Sweeney got quite ill and the business suffered and ended up selling the business but there hasn't been any noticeable decline in quality. Their customer service is absolutely first rate too, I've sent several of my pairs away for official repair/resoling/rebuilding and they do a bang up job.
I had another pair of their resoled elsewhere and they did a rubbish job, resulting in me never wearing those shoes any more. Never scrimp, that's what I learned.
Big thumbs up for OS.
4 pairs for me worn in rotation. Very good quality, tend to come up slightly large.
You won't go too far wrong with Sweeney,great shoes.
I've had 4 pairs. Pretty good. Soles seem to wear quickly on me. My Geoffrey West brogues seem more robust.
I've got 6 pairs on Sweeneys and, whilst I love the designs, the jury's still out on the quality. The soles on my Montgomery derbys wore quicker than I had expected and the resoling job they have done is disappointing - looks rough and the light brown sole has been replaced by a darker more lifeless one. The tan brogues I bought in the summer have a loose stitch in the welt. Sizing seems all over the place too.
Although safer in design, my Barkers and single pair of Cheaney seem much better quality.
Isn't it a bit late to ask for opinions after you've bought them? ;-)

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Just brought these from Ted Baker in duty free with purple rubber on leather Goodyear welted soles, Indian made, very comfy, well made and good value.

I've just bought the same shoes as the Op, with some subtle differences (OK, not so subtle). Paid £44 for an ex-display pair, plus I'm be getting a few quid back via Quidco. Not bad for a £220 RRP shoe.
Love them and quality is superb.

Although, I got the last pair of these a good couple of weeks back. Also picked up a pair of ex-display size 9 Nike Air Pegasus 83 for £21 for my oldest son. When they turned up they where box fresh, and brand spanking new!
In the Oliver Sweeney range, all they have at the moment is a couple of pairs of ex-display Teleuda Monks for around 70% discount. Battered ones go for a lot more than that on ebay.

I must admit that I've never had an OS but after purchasing it, perhaps the Op should have an opinion on it by now.
I used to have Gregsons and Churches in the past. However, the bedding down period was too long and I refuse to suffer wearing a shoe to bed it down. The weight on these shoes don't help either as I wear my work shoes for up to 12 to 16 hours a day or more! So I've given up on heavy duty shoes.
I've purchased some Paul Smith shoes (Kenyon in brown and black) and they are brilliant but can't say how long it would last.
