I enjoyed that too.
Must admit I enjoyed reading this piece. Lots of good succinct nuggets of wisdom for the crumbling classes

Nice. I particularly liked "It is hard to get down off a high horse gracefully"
Many of those were great, at 45 I am not wise enough to have written that
I particularly like:
34: Arguing with strangers on the internet is like wrestling with a pig on a barnyard floor. No one learns anything and all anyone gets is dirty.
Couldn't put it better.
Excellent! Number 15 didn't make me proud of myself.
I need to think – really think – more often. There was jam on the door handle, But I suppressed the anger that rose up in me, Because I thought of the day that the door handle would be clean, And the little hand would be gone.
Very good although have to disagree with this one:
.A cup of tea tastes 40 per cent better if someone else makes it.
Yes the jam one struck a nerve.
Enjoyed that read, thanks for sharing. Quite liked this one:
There comes a point, when you’re staring down the barrel of middle age, when you realise that almost all of the stuff you’ve spent your life amassing is going into a skip when you die. That realisation is very liberating.
Perfect to read with my morning coffee. Thanks OP! Like the High horse one and as with others, the door handle made an impact. So to speak.
Who knew Blue was neutral?!
Many good thoughts there, thanks for posting.
Yup. I'm in a jam on the door handle stage of life right now - that will stay with me for a while I hope.
36. Few things give a man as much of a sense of power as catching a fish or poking a fire with a big stick.
Love it
15. The jam
Got something in my eye.
15 got me too... I'm going to try and reign in my OCD and enjoy every second I get with my 5 year old daughter after reading that.... big thank you to the OP.
Very nice, thanks for sharing that John!
Very good indeed & forwarded on elsewhere, thank you OP.
Now, I’m nursing a stinker of a head cold & the brain is somewhat fuzzy, but I'm missing something with this one:16 Brown to live, blue to neutral . . . Actually, let me check that and come back to you.

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
My favourite was also this one:
“There was jam on the door handle, But I suppressed the anger that rose up in me, Because I thought of the day that the door handle would be clean, And the little hand would be gone.”
Many thought provoking pearls of wisdom there.
Number 15, the jam on the door handle made me think very hard.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing John, no one else find this gem worrying?
"There comes a point, when you’re staring down the barrel of middle age, when you realise that almost all of the stuff you’ve spent your life amassing is going into a skip when you die. That realisation is very liberating."
At 31 I imagine my better half would happily skip most of my gear!
Thread bookmarked for later reading. Thank you to the OP.
A great read, thanks for the link!
Mike
I enjoyed that with a coffee this morning - thank you!
