Hammy
Hammy
The Alpinist, a gorgeous colour dial and so versatile on different straps.
alpinist for me too
Seiko for me too- love how different it is, and not keen on the numerals on the Hamilton.
Easy choice, the day date Hamilton.
Seiko for me. I like hamiltons but I dont like that one.
Seiko for me. Lovely looking watch.
Seiko.
The Seiko, of those two.
Hamilton is too busy with the inner 24 hour nonsense on a non-GMT handed watch, and I don't care for the big 9 and 3.
Day and date is useful, but overall, the Seiko is the better looking....just.
I am sure these are both excellent.
I personally prefer the Hamilton as I owned one of these models before and the quality was top notch.
The timekeeping was also spot on.
I have lots of Seikos too, but I am not a fan of the cathedral hands, nor that particular colour.
The Seiko! And I love Hamilton's but I can't deal with obscured numbers on dials! Or the day indicator to be honest. Wouldn't a Hamilton Khaki Field on leather be a more accurate comparison? I think I'd prefer that model to the Seiko.
Seiko for me, not a fan of having the day displayed on the face.
Whilst I must confess to being a bit of a Seiko fanboy, I do like the look of the Hamilton, so that's my vote.
Of those two I would go for the Hamilton. Although I find the Day part off-putting and the 9 and 3 are a bit randomly large.
Based purely on the aesthetics of the individual models, I'd go for the Seiko. Beautiful dial colour and less fussy dial.
Nothing to do with favouring one brand over the other, design wise this Hamilton is a mess. (and they do make some good looking watches).
Seiko for me.
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
have to agree with the above, Seiko for me too.
Seiko.
The dial on the Hamilton is a dogs dinner.
The functionality of the Hamilton might win out, day and rotating bezel, both of which I use!
The Seiko is a very distinctive and very good looking watch though; I'd need to try them on if it were me.
From pics only; the Seiko.
Seiko would be my choice, very nice looking watch with a purposeful winding crown, unlike the Hamiltons weedy effort.
The Hamilton is trying to hard, 24 hr markers, day/date and rotating bezel just don't look right altogether IMO.
I really like that seiko
dont like the Hamilton in comparison
I vote Hamilton
Seiko and Hamilton are two of my favourite brands, but I really dislike that Hamilton, it's far too busy. I had the Seiko for a little while and just wasn't taken with it, it simply didn't work for me once I got my hands on it.
They're both so different there must be a better middle ground? What do you want?
I prefer the Seiko!
Certainly the Sarb017.
I really want one, but I'm worried it may wear a little small on a 7.5" wrist.
Little brother who is far more slight turns 21 in 2 weeks, anyone think that a 21 year old musician wouldn't appreciate this piece as a birthday present? (Maybe with a strap strange) Worst case scenario i'm thinking i could ask for it back...
Hamilton for me!
If you're planning to shoot one of them, then the cheapest.
If you're planning on wearing one, I prefer the Seiko (not a fan of Days like that at all), but you might find the Hamilton more adaptable.
M.
To the Op which one did you prefer and have you changed your mind?
The hamilton. The seiko's colour isn't too my taste.
The Alpinist, I would look for a 4s15-6000 with a black face! :)
Hamilton for me, not keen on the green dial of the Seiko.
Hamilton, though I'm thrilled about he day complication.
Unanimous for the Seiko
PapaHotel -counted you as a Seiko
I like both but you have swayed me to the Seiko-Pulled the trigger from Creation (Its the only one who did the deal without P...sing Paypal)
I will get the Hammy at some stage in the future I like the day /date feature already have a Tudor with this complication-Thanks for your time and opinions, will post Pics on arrival
Good choice. I still like the SARB17, I like the dial colour, I like the hands, I like the 2nd crown and internal bezel, it simply didn't fit when I got it. A few mm bigger and a little thinner and I might still have it. I suppose I expected a little more from the dial too.
