I would post some pics, but it doesn't like iPads. I'll try and figure out a way. In the meantime please listen to some soft music...
Hi folks,
Having lurked a bit I thought I should say Hi.
I didn't think I had a watch habit until I realised I could put my brew down on the bedside cabinet. Although it only seems mild compared to some people I have seen here I think it may only be the beginning...
I'll try and post some pics now...

Welcome, I use the tapatalk app to post pics from my iPad
Cheers xpatx
Thanks -Ally-
Cheers Neillp, I tried taptalk a while back didnt get on with it. Might try again.
My first attempt at posting a pic. A little off topic, but it was my first expensive watch and I got free for selling so many (I worked in a bike shop). Still in ocasisonal use when I am feeling fit...
This is its newer cousin, this one gets my phone to mither me if I sit down too long (I don't work in a bike shop anymore).
If this works, I'll post the interesting stuff.

Well that worked. Result
My mum bought me this as a graduation present. At that point I lost all interest in watched and this stayed on my wrist for probably ten years (well I took it off to sleep). I swam in it while on business in spain. There were no lockers and thought it was waterproof so safer. It has a needed a new dial as a result of the water damage. It's now on semi permanent loan to my wife. Although looking at the scratches some words might be had...
I bought a used vintage Rolex Oyster (1969) which is away for service. I love it to bits, the steel feels different and looks yellower than modern stainless. Thats away for service, and I cant find a picture. But I got a promotion at work and bought myself this, a '97 GMT (16700). this is my daily wear.
I still fancy a Submariner ND tho...
When My dad died I got these two. Both work. The Smiths was his 18th birthday present and the Excelsior Park he bought when he got his job with the BBC. Some lovely history.
The Smiths is in a bit of state and doesn't get used.
The Excelsior is lovely - my watch repairer did make me promise not to use it as a daily wear - the patina is fantastic. I really love the blue on the hands.
Hi Alistair and welcome, nice watches and each one has its own little story, sounds like you are well and truly "on the slope". I lived up in good old Haslingden many years ago, hope all good up there.
Last for today, my Zissou. I'm trying to find a Powder Blue wet suit ;)
This arrived today. I had read about he Vostok strap being bad, it feels awful. Immediately swapped onto a rubber diver to complete the look then unceremoniously dropped on the kitchen floor as I tried to put it on. The face is scratched, but its done now and means I can get on with wearing it. And it was bought as a playing about watch.
welcome from another new member nice collection
Cheers Cat7, less of a slope more of precipice ;)
I have designs on Sub ND and/or an Explorer1. I am also fancying a PRS-68, but worry about how that will wear on my skinny wrists.
I also fancy taking one apart, but not one of these. The working of the mechanical watch really appeal to the Ejinear in me.
It's bit like bikes and shaving gear, you start wanting to try something different and realise there is so much out there that you need. It's nice to know there are 'friends' on the web.

Thanks Nigeyp.
Hello. I like that you have lots of older watches with personal history. Have you thought about a watch box?
Hi Markw,
I have a watch winder as my Oyster's not a quickset and my OCD side hates incorrect dates. The rest just live in the safe out of the way, when not being worn.
I don't really have anywhere a watch box could live. But I have thought about a watch roll. But then I don't want I to take anything out of my watch fund. It's like a drug this...
welcome! Great pics!
Welcome

Ah yes, another prime candidate to get his wallet out due to influence from this forum. This could get expensive. It's a slippery slope from here on in.
Thanks Andy, Slowprop & Jim.
I think I was already turned before I found here ;)
There's something appealing about a Rolex on a £5 nato cloth strap, it's something I'll have to try.
You have a very varied collection there, it'll only get worse for being on this site I assure you
Cheers the_soon...
I have a few things on my wish list. But to be fair, the rot had set in long before I came here. I'm hoping the availability of sensible advice will slow me down - but I'm not banking on it ;)
Welcome to the forum. Some interesting watches and I particularly like the Excelsior Park chrono - we don't see those around here very often.
Welcome!
No chance of abating the habit. Every time I log on I find a new piece to add to my list.
Welcome.
Hello,
Another new member here, just wanted to say hi.
Been a bit of a lurker for a few months.
The rot has already well and truly set in though - moved from a quartz CR Ward C70 a few years ago to a Longines Master Collection Moonphase, and then earlier this month added an Omega Speedmaster MK40, which I am going to see if I can turn a small profit on to fund one of the lovely blue 2503 Omega AT's.
Hope to be around for a while!
Hi, welcome to the forum and congrats, you have a really nice collection.
Welcome Alistair, I enjoyed the soft music very much!
Welcome to the forum
Welcome to the forum bud. I really enjoy it on here.
