Looks great mate.....well worth putting in a bit of effort to get the look you want...
Hope this of interest to some.
For me, my Zenith Captain chrono was the most significant watch purchase ever. I had long admired the look of the watch, but never had the opportunity to try one on, living in the depths of darkest Gloucestershire as I do. Anyway, as previously recorded, I did my research and checked all the obvious things to ensure the watch would not be a disappointment.
There was one small issue, I knew I wanted to change the leather strap and buckle. The originals are very nice, but I thought a little too bland, not befitting the watch. Anyway I have always preferred a deployant/deployment buckle as it probably reduces the wear to the strap, which are not cheap to replace. So my search began....not easy, went through three straps which all failed to 'hit the mark' until picked up one from Watchstrap World (no connection) supposedly for a JLC Master Compressor - bingo!
Then a search for a non-pin buckle. The current deployment buckles from Zenith are (imho) not in keeping with the retro look of the Captain chrono, and at £275 in ss a tad pricey *cough*! I did want a branded item so I searched for NOS and found one on Chrono24 at nearly a quarter the price of the current version - these were issued from 1996 to 2006 so I am told. Result - priceless.
I shall be wearing this to my brother's 50th birthday celebration when he will receive a birth year Omega Seamaster Deville, hope he bloody loves it!! Lol.

Such a lovely watch and so comfortable on the wrist - I miss mine...
That looks fantastic, I do like the Captain chronos, the blue dialled LE version is on my "one day" list.
absolute stunner! Great strap - watch - deployment combo!
Looks very good, I like the captains, the subdials do not overlap, excellent watch and nice combo! Well done!!
Looks great and white/ivory dial with a tan/ honey strap is a great combo,IMO.
Happy 50th to your brother and a very thoughtful gift .
Looks lovely, really good colour match of the straps to the indices. I just received today a silver Zenith El Primero which came with a honey leather strap so will have to try out the look too!
Very nice, I also much prefer leather strap watches on deployments, I don't know why zenith seem to insist on not providing them for some watches..
What a beautiful looking watch.
Beautiful watch!
As has been said before, a beautiful combination of dial, hands and strap colour.
A beautiful watch.
I had one of these, but the black dial version. I have to say your version is much, much nicer!! Absolutely lovely. I was not 100% certain about the dial layout but ultimately this is one of the new era Zeniths which gets its right. Congratulations.

Next time, please set the watch at 10 to 2, and not 5 to 1 – my OCD can't cope
Beautiful, beautiful watch, and congrats on finding the perfect deployant and strap for it.
You, Sir are a man of style and taste. My jaw dropped so far when I saw that, that I had to bend down and look for it. The strap is just perfect for it. Magnificent, bravo and your photography skills....

I am speechless, whatever the "current version" looks like, I can hardly imagine it compares to that, and you got it for a quarter of the price!

That is just gorgeous!!
That is wonderful!
Wow.
Thats a genuine challenger to the Portuguese IMO.
Absolute style there.
far, far superior. In every way.
That is a really fabulous watch and I love the way that Zenith almost unfailingly manage to get the date window on the edge of the dial. To be honest I'm not that gone on the strap - have you got any photos of the candidates that you eliminated prior to settling on this one?
that to me is pretty much perfection in a watch. the rose gold hour markers with the champagne face, discrete subdials, and all pulled together with a great choice of strap to liven the overall look.
a nice grown up looking watch that ticks lots of boxes.... with an El Primero to cap it all off.
when is it going on SC?
Thanks. The OEM strap looks quite nice, if a little flat. Could have done with a bit more padding which a bit disappointing, in the circumstances. The lighter colour of your strap is a better fit for the dial and indices.
lovely, very classy and understated :)
Bravo! The new look really lifts it above the OEM. Worth the effort to source I'm sure. I hope you have many years of happy wearing together 👍
Damn and bl**dy blast, I cant get this watch out of my head
When you get a mo PM me details of the strap and buckle. (please)
I hate this place.
Love this Zenith. Had the privilege to own it for a short while. Love the combination with the light strap as well...
Great combination!!
