New strap for my Speedmaster - What do you think?

This Speedmaster has been on a steel bracelet from day 1. Since I haven't worn it much I thought it might be in need of a new look... Something that would make me want to wear it more. So I tried putting it on two different straps, a brown strap and a black racing strap. I think I've made up my mind about which one I like best. But I was curious as to what others think... So, what do you think? Black, brown, something else, or back on the steel bracelet?

The black is a good change from the bracelet. The brown does not work at all.

Both look fine, but I'd have to do something about the buckle on the brown strap. It looks like a Hirsch Liberty but say Head in rather large letters on the buckle. Then, it's not what we like that matters...

    Edit: Some other ideas: here.

As you own one, perhaps you can educate me about the Speedmaster Legend? The Speedy Tuesday article (link) says the Collection was limited to 6000 pieces. Looking on the net I see your white face edition (3559.32.00) with a case back engraved with a LE number and the words "Sixth Title" around the outside, but others (esp 3506.61.00 red versions) seem to have only "MS The Legend" in red and in the centre. Can you tell me why that is, please?

On my phone, the brown seems to complement the red on the dial, in the metal I'd suspect the black looks better.

Di-Modell Chronissiomo with red stitch would be a good look I think...

    Second that.

But in this case I vote for the black!

That strap in brown with a white stich could look good too.

I don't know... Mine says limited edition 6th title, and then has a number out of 6000.

Thanks for the suggestions guys... What limits my choices is that I need extra long straps for my big wrist. Many of the nice straps out there that I like only come in standard lengths. I think most Hirsch straps are unavailable in the length I'd like.

OK thanks...but this is what I mean:

    and

...both pictures shamelessly stolen from the web.

And I've just spotted that one has "The Collection" in red and the one marked as a LE doesn't. Hmm...

Edit: Cracked it! The OP's watch (3559.32.00) dates from 2004 and in 2005 Omega produced The Collection of three different versions (3507.51.00 black, 3506.31.00 white and 3506.61.00 red).

    Black rallye

I thought this was the 35th anniversary at first but this looks even nicer with the outer ring, just a shame it's a little small IMO

I personally think the brown but without the superfluous stitching going off at 90º to the strap edge. It's a real bugbear of mine and I cursed the day that Hirsch redefined the Liberty strap with this extra stitch. It can be easily unpicked though

I quite like the black, but the brown's a little 'rustic' for my taste, on a Speedmaster anyway, might work well on something more rugged looking.

Black for me in this case. Not a big fan pf that style of strap, but the colouring works better. I generally prefer brown though, so it might just be that a different shade of brown would work better.

If you prefer it without then thats good too (i have seen pics and they look good either way)

I suppose looking at my reply i could have ellaborated, with most threads turning into hostility lately i should make an effort to double check my posts, sorry if it came across blunt

The black works for me, regarding a longer strap why don't you contact one of the many strap makers on the forum, as I'm sure someone will be able to help.

From the skin tone in the photo, I think the brown works better...marginally.
