Not my type but I am in the same boat as you in relation to experimenting with straps
No to the first. The Zulu is not bad. Try the classic colour natos though and maybe a red/black combo.

Yes it's been misshaped by squeezing it into the 20mm lugs of my SMP!
Just found this that I use to wear on my Seiko SKX007
Seriously, try some NATOs, the metalwork is not quite so prominent which can overshadow the watch and unbalance the look.
I like khaki Zulu look, but this "raw", thick leather strap doesnt fit imo
You may try either light brown leather (if any leather strap suits diver)
or go with Sailcloth strap or rubber
Yes I know what you mean Josh, those 5 ring Zulu's are like wearing one of those old fashioned charm bracelets in comparison to a NATO
My vote is the red black nato or sailcloth
