A quick hello!, and a not so quick question.

I've been reading the forum for a couple of years now, and thought it was time I signed up! So hello to all and thank you for all your great info and pics!

The question: I recently purchased a Omega First Omega in Space but am not really loving the strap colour/ style. It seems to be well made, and is comfortable to wear, but i was looking for some advice on what people think would look good?

Here is a pic of it in its huge presentation box, and one of it in the wild.

    Thank you!

    Welcome!

I think it would look pretty good on a Bond NATO although I would not risk wearing it on a NATO unless it had drilled lugs, such that I could fit shoulderless spring bars.

It might look good on a metal mesh although I'm not certain.

As for leather straps, I suppose black would be the obvious choice. Something smooth and padded might be right, maybe.

My view, though clearly personal opinion, would be to look to put it on a Toshi or similar. Interesting range of colours they have and I'd be tempted with a dark green or brown.

A black or honey croc with curved ends - here is my 35th on an Omega curved double ridged. Good luck, it can be very frustrating trying to find the right combo that suits you

A quick hello!, and a not so quick question.

Generally speaking I've never seen a bad looking speedy/strap combo!
Gas gas bones Velcro, some kind of NATO (go for an Omega one if your feeling particularly wealthy) black leather with white stitching..... The possibilities are endless!
There are plenty of pictures around the forum which should help you out, and also check out the omega website. They have a comparator which let's you chose watch/NATO combos to see what they look like.

I've been wearing mine recently on a Black Omega Alligator Deployant, and have in the past loved the look of it on a padded Rallye.

I still love the supplied brown calf strap though.

Thanks guys some great ideas! Some great pics too!

I've tried out a couple of nato straps, but not sure if I'm totally onboard.

I like the look of it on the black padded rallye strap especially. Any suggestions on good places to get them?

Fantastic look LuvWatch, the double ridge looks great!

The FOIS is 19 mm between the lugs, I believe.

I`ve used one of these on a SMP and it really is excellent, don`t be put off by the low price. Takes a while to soften up and 'wear in' but I`d thoroughly recommend it. An Omega buckle can be bought for around £20 but personally I wouldn`t bother.

A 20mm strap can usually be squeezed onto 19mm lugs, I`ve done it several times.

Thanks all! Lots of great options.

I have bitten the bullet and gone for a Di Modell Rallye in black. Sooo tempted to buy a couple more with different coloured stitching!

I will post pics once it arrives!

Looking good...really doesn't need coloured stitching (IMO).

Give it a day or two, NATOs and the Speedy do go well together. As a temporary measure I put mine on a black one one five years ago and I've never gone back.

There's a black & white stripe NATO (magpie) that also complements the Speedy.
