looks great! me likey that
Hardly earth shattering I realise but I finally summoned up the courage to take the cyclops off my Stargate II.
I applied focused heat using a mini blowtorch I have for 10 secs maximum and the cyclops slid off really easily. Managed to burn my thumb by stupidly checking how much residue had been left behind (very little). A few rubs with solvent and it looks great IMO.
Sorry I hesitated for so long.

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Much better - I done one with acetone and a hammer before - not for the faint hearted
Huge improvement, well done.
That cyclops was lop sided. I would never have left it like that. That cyclop would have come off day one.
Brave. But a good result :)

I took a brave pill today and removed the cyclops from one of my watches. I just used a stanley knife and gradually chipped away until it was gone. No residual mark left and the crystal is unmarked. Pleased I did it now!
I had to line up a ruler with the cyclops to persuade me that it was straight because I was convinced it wasn't.
Removing the cyclops has turned the Stargate from a watch I didn't wear and was pretty convinced I was going to sell into my daily wearer for the last 3 weeks!
I have yet to see any watch that looks better for having a Cyclops, horrible blooming things.
Ruddy hell, you're brave!
A couple of weeks ago I removed the cyclops from my Tudor chrono, using a Stanley knife blade and a small hammer. I never liked it and then it got knocked, which marked the AR coating on the outside of the cyclops. This wasn't visible from most angles but if the light caught it properly it appeared as a solid black mark, so it had to go. Two taps with the hammer and it was off without leaving a trace behind. Now I'm in love again.
