Heads up: Save 20% on any watch today (15th)

If you are happy to buy off eBay.co.uk

I tried the code on an import listed on eBay.co.uk and it worked.

    Happy days!

Enter the code on the PayPal page at the bottom before you commit to buy.
Just bought a CWC G10 and got £19 off.

I noticed when ordering that if you change your paypal payment method from the default it says the code is invalid, just put it in again and it should sort itself out. A bit late now though if you've already paid.

  17. #17
Be careful though... I entered the code to see if it would work on a mobile phone. It showed the discount ok - but I cancelled out of the purchase at that point to look at other models. Picked one... went to buy it and it says:

The redemption code can't be used for your purchase
•There is no balance left on this redemption code

So it lets you apply that code once at checkout whether or not you click that last button to seal the deal and buy it.

Any ideas of an interesting watch for up to £250? Looking at some Seiko 5. Maybe time to try a 009.

Just spoke with eBay CS a couple of minutes ago, and I'm lead to believe they are actively monitoring all transactions made, and will be automatically reimbursing everyone that qualifies within 14 days via their Paypal account.
Phew! That's a handy £50 I'll be getting back then.

Thanks Andrew, for the heads up on the offer code.

Someone should use it to buy the Seiko Sumo (black dial) that I have listed on the site. You'd save £50 in so doing!

Where did that page appear I can't seem to find it.

Also if the watch I'm looking at is £320 but can only get a Max discount of £50 rather than the £64 at 20%, will it not work or would I just get £50 off ?

Would love to know by tonight obviously😁

    20% to a maximum of £50.
As above, pay for the item, then give it a fortnight to see your PP account £50 in credit or put back onto the card you used.

    Whilst attempting to purchase goods of a horological nature and being refused the voucher code i spotted this on their help page;

    "Coupon Issue.

Our coupon campaign today has proven to be hugely successful with customers and the promotion exceeded all our expectations. Due to huge customer demand, this discount coupon is no longer available and we apologise to any customers who have been unable to participate. We know our buyers love to shop and we regularly offer discount promotions so there will be more opportunities in future."

That's outrageuos... Just tried after to committing to buy something and and there were 'no funds left on this code' so, not been able to buy what I intended to buy... A stiff letter of complaint I think

Who on earth was the product manager who came up with this campaign? And they wonder why it's all gone a bit mental on eBay... Morons

I don't see why they are fools. That's what the code is for!

If it was amazingly successful then it got what eBay wanted: More business.

It is only eBay who have, in effect, gone back on what they promised: That the code would run to midnight. This is very disappointing by eBay and no one else is to blame.

Code was sent out to certain members email id's but not linked to accounts (ebays fault Imo) ,but got posted on to hot deals and then abused therefore the genuine people that did get the email some of those lost out.

imo hotdeals and sites like that just encourage some people to abuse certain offers and spoil it for others so in my eyes they are the fools rather than sharing with a few friends and smaller forums like what used to happen back in the early days of ecommerce

anyway i got the email and managed to buy a new 10 litre jerry can selection for car and shed :)

Not really, that's my point it's more of a community here and the other good forums Ive been on for 15 years these have fewer members and more like an extended family unlike the people you see on hduk just there to abuse any offer they see, especially the ones where you see thanks ordered 30 of those etc

It was in the national popular press, so little wonder there was a huge take up of the offer. Not impressed with eBay for pulling the plug earlier than advertised.
