    Samsung S6 or S6 edge

Looking at a new phone for the Mrs but which is the best one to go for Samsung S6 or S6 edge?

    Hi Steve

They are both superb phones but if you read reviews on both you will come to the conclusion that the edge looks very cool but it isn't a feature you would use so if I was buying either it would be the S6, if she can wait a while they have just launched the S6 Active in the States and it will be released here at some stage, now some people thinks it's ugly but to me I think it looks fab and the main reason why that is the one I would buy is it has a much bigger battery than the other two phones it is a 3500 so the battery life will be superb also it is waterproof and dustproof as well and for me good battery life is a must as these screens really drain power.

Both are fantastic handsets but I couldn't justify the extra cost of the Edge.

Whichever you decide on (I went with the S6) don't get the Samsung Clear View cover. I thought I was doing the right thing by getting a genuinely over-priced Samsung case that would protect the phone. Unfortunately after about a month I've noticed dull patches on the screen where the case has rubbed the surface of the screen. Even with a screen protector the case will rub and case some minor 'scuffing'.

Don't think the edge is worth the premium. Glare seems to be most peoples issue with it. Looks cool though

The camera still surprises me with the quality as does the fast charging

The active version would be great, hoping it'll be released here.

She currently has the S4 and I have the S5 with the extended battery. She won't like the S6 active so I think I'll just get her the regular S6.

O/T I know but I gave my nephew my old S3 when I upgraded to an HTC One M8. I was surprised at how good it still is. I'd have stuck with Samsung but I didn't like Touchwiz very much.

If you're buying now, Argos has the 32GB sin-free model at 20% off - £480

Why not be radical, let the Mrs pick her own phone?

I'm not saying they can think for themselves but they love the illusion.

Same at Carphone Warehouse. Makes you wonder if sales have been slower than expected.

The S6 seems a bit of a backward step so I wouldn't be surprised. I don't want one with no easy battery replacement and no micro SD slot. Anyway my credit card has a bonus if I buy from Argos so my money will go there.

I ordered mine to collect at Argos but have actually just bought it off Amazon for £449. Grabbed the wireless charger with the cost saving :)

Yes. While they've made it look and feel a thousand times better than the ugly S5 they've lost a lot of what made their flagship different to its competitors.
It's also a mystery why they thought it was okay to trumpet the water resistance of the 5 as a huge step forward and then bin it with the 6.
