I used to have a pair of the Adidas assault boots (they were issued by more than the GSG-9 :wink: ). They were very comfortable and good on wet surfaces, but I wouldn't want to make a long tab in them. Sadly, the uppers started to disintegrate after a few years.

bought a pair in the morning, out on a 7day patrols exercise :cry: in the aftrenoon, not a blister/hot spot at all, and they are still going strong.

I've GSG9's, Lowas and a pair of Altberg P1's. All ace boots. Altbergs are really worth checking out.

I know its a bit OT, but I remember when I had my first pair of Danners issued, what a revolution they were, both the commando sole and the urban sole.
