    Best eye cream?

Right, at the risk of being rolled in dog shit and then flamed to a crusty, shitty, mass, I'm going to ask this anyway.

I'm 43 now and have noticed recently that the skin under my eyes is becoming very thin and starting to get a bit baggy. I can't have that my friends!!!!

So action is required now. I will increase my water intake and try to get more sleep and I also need some kind of eye cream / gel. I'm doing some research but wondered whether anyone has had a) similar issues and b) good results with a certain product?

I will try to glean the nuggets I need from the abuse. Let it begin.

I feel this thread will head downhill fast!

Surely a bit of moisturiser and an acceptance that age is catching up with us all is the answer.

No, it isn't. Moisturiser will soften the area and make it worse. As for age, I'm 43 not 63!

Just buy the superdrug one, there is no real difference between them except for marketing. I use some tea-tree oil before bed for a wipe and have lovely smooth skin as a result.

On the age front I am 40, I think that with work, wife, kids - bags under the eyes are inevitable. If the magic cure comes out of the tread I will give it a go!

No magic cure. Accept it or spend money having cosmetic surgery like a (wealthy) woman.

If that's all you've got to worry about healthwise you should be counting your blessings.

A refreshing change to the macho "Johnny big balls" type thread that seems to appear on a daily basis

    Anyway,

Despite having used facial moisturiser twice a day for the past 20 years I noticed earlier this year that the circles under my eyes were becoming darker and baggier

My wife suggested using Insta Natural Youth Express Eye Gel

Ive been using it daily for about two months now and Im amazed at the difference it has made. The baggieness has all but gone and the darkness is significantly reduced. It really has taken years off me

I also have a lie down on the bed for about an hour at the weekends with some sliced cucumber (pre chilled in the fridge) over my eyes - I think that this helps as well

(Its never too late - Im 56)

Pick the cream that has the best published peer reviewed study highlighting it's effectiveness.

    Good luck finding one.

I used to have (*) the same problem so starting using Clarins under eye gel - after several years I'd noticed no real difference whatsoever so stopped using it as it's quite expensive. Several years on and my bags don't seem to have changed as a result of not using it either. All I bother with now is Bull Dog anti-aging moisturising cream as I spend a lot of time outdoors and it helps to keep dry skin at bay.

(*) Obviously I still have the same baggy eyes but used the term "used to have" because I guess I've just accepted that's the way my face looks - I don't worry about it now because as an overweight ugly 44 year old giant the bags under my eyes are the least of my concerns looks wise

I sat reading your message nodding away like churchill the dog. :)
I, too, am 43 ... and yes, lack of sleep and going to bed at 2 or 3 am on "school nights" has had its effects.
Anyway, as well as more sleep, I've added the Body Shop eye serum to my morning and evening schedules:
just google, for Body Shop's "For Men Maca Root Eye Rescue Serum"
It's 10 quid at the moment, but the Body Shop is always having sales and discounts ... usually a third off.

    Plus, I can recommend:
Body Shop's "For Men Maca Root Energetic Face Protector".

I was going to post the URLs, but i've clean forgotten whether we're allowed to.

But, it really is a case of getting into the habit of washing and moisturizing first thing AM and last thing PM.

Most important of all ... it keeps Mrs Mykk happy!!!

The wife asked me that once.... I certainly gave her a shot of my best in her eye. "You'll be pleased to know that I have an inexhaustible supply of the stuff", I told her.

    Try this.

Take a mortar and pestle and finely grind walnut shells to a powder, do enough to give you a tablespoonful. Add this powder to 50 ml of California Syrup of Figs and a half teaspoon of Guinness sauce, stir well and soak two eye pads with the mixture and tape them over your CLOSED eyes for 20 minutes. Do this daily for a week and you should notice significant improvement.
Let us know how you get on!

I'm so intrigued that I'm off to try that mix, and I don't have any issues with the skin around my eyes.

As to the OP, I can't offer any advice as I couldn't give two hoots about my own appearance. Far too much else to be getting on with.

When you look in the mirror take your glasses off. You'll look bloody gorgeous. I also recommend this when being intimate with someone you don't fancy.

Is this on Amazon for £14.95? I'm a bit put off by its claim of a £79.99 rrp!

Yes it is. I have found another two suppliers in the UK who sell it for £79.99 and my purchase is supplied by the manufacturer and fulfilled by Amazon which gave me confidence that maybe the manufacturer is trying to get wider circulation at a reduced price using Amazon.
