Prefer the black too, and it wears well on your wrist. Congratulations!

Thanks, yes I'd always liked the Polar until I popped one on my wrist. I'm not sure, it was a while ago when I tried one, but I think the earlier (16570) looked better in white?

But to me, the newer version looked wrong in white, so it was an easy decision to go for the Black version. I did stumble over a Submariner (no date) for a while, but the Exp II won out in the end.

Such a versatile watch in black, good choice. Polar is lovely, but, like you, when I tried both on side by side it was the black that clicked (despite me being sure I'd buy the polar before trying them on).

Exactly how I felt. I was certain that it was going to be the Polar until I tried it on.

That's a good fit - I had to go for the smaller 16570 but the new size seems spot on for you. I agree on the black face, the majority seem to lean the other way but it's always been the black one that's appealed and it seems very wearable.

I have the Polar version. Might have bought the black one but really dislike those "floating" hands.

Thanks. I think I'm OK with 40/42mm watches. I P/X'd my Omega PO 45mm, I liked it but always felt it was just a tad too big (it was pretty heavt too)

Ohhh no, I'd not noticed that. You've put me off it now

No idea why it bothers me but it bothers me enough to not to buy it.

I do know what you mean. For me, the black edges on the hands of the later 42mm white version are way too thick/wide. A small point, but they just looked like plastic to me.

In fact I totally prefer the hands on previous version in both Balck and White, the hands on that model being far more slender, just look (to my eye) far better.

Good choice, EXP 2 is a nice solid watch, a nice alternative to the submariner.

Thanks, I am very pleased with my choice. I did take a good long look at the Sub, but just felt the Explorer was more "me"

I much prefer the black dial to white, it's a great nod back to the 1655 Explorer.

However... It's just too big for my use :(

Great choice of watch and colour, I love mine and fits your wrist nicely.
I looked at a white faced one in a jewellers yesterday and as you say not as nice as the black.
    Enjoy!
