Sapphire front and back. Xtal very slightly domed.
    Build and appearance is excellent.
Hands are just a tad on the thin side.
Back is fixed via 6 small screws.
I can unscrew these OK, but left back on. It gains 4 to 4.5 s + per day. Will probably leave it at that, but will see later on how it goes.
The dial is very white. It reminds me of a station or platform clock face, but that is the main reason I went for it.
    I love the clear simplicity.
The dial is very big on the wrist.
I think it is a wee bit expensive, but I still like it a lot!
The crown is not screw down, but everything is spot on.
The strap is very good quality.......not too soft or stiff. It should wear in very nicely.
Crown and strap signed, as is a very good quality buckle.
Overall, I am very pleased with it
I would have preferred the case back a slotted screw on..........but it is OK
The movement is a personalised 2824-2 with Stowa deeply embossed signature on the rotor, and all screws blued.
For ease and comfort of single glance time read it is great!!
Reminds me a bit of a 1953 Omega manual
Will be a keeper I am quite sure.
I wont be filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed, I am not a number, I am a free man, my life is my own!!!
    Be seeing you

I think that one reason to have casesbacks taking screws rather than a screw-in caseback with slots, is that it saves a mm or so in height. (It saves some in width, as well, if the caseback isn't a screw-in one.) It also might be easier to make, although I'm not sure about that.

It certainly would be easier to repair, and to make tidy if someone messed up (you might only have to replace/refinish the screws.) With a slot back system, if you polish any mistakes out, the area to grab the slot is decreased. So, every "repair" makes it more likely an additional one will be needed. (Not much more likely, in good hands, but still ....)

Rolex, not surprisingly, finds an interesting compromise with their serrated edges.

    Best wishes,
    Bob

Not honestly sure if it works with the Sinn - there's an awful lot going on there I think...

Yep, but it looks much better in the metal - kinda hard to explain. White stitching is far too loud, this is more subtle.

I took the bracelet off for a bit of a clean and this was the most suitable I had in the box.

A few hours on the wrist and I quite like it :)

Do people really remove the cyclops or is it more of a WIS myth?

    - A lot of people don't like the lens.
    - Removing the lens is discussed over and over again.
    - I've never seen a Rolex with removed lens in flesh.
    - Removing the lens is AFAIK more difficult than to replace the glass.

My girlfriend owns an Invicta Lady's diver with lens. She like the watch, but not the lens. One day she broke the glass and asked the watchmaker to replace it with a plain glass. Now she likes the watch all the more.

Perhaps the only Cyclops ever removed is a small crustacean, subclass Copeboda.

There has long been a myth about removing the Cyclops. It is that the first to remove the Cyclops was Jason, using a sharp, pointy instrument. But, I think it is just a myth.

Some people do remove cylcops. I have seen various Rolex models with cyclops removed. I even once overheard one customer asking my AD if they could remove the cyclop on one of the Rolex that he intended to buy.

I personally don't like the look of Rolexes with cyclops removed; they are not designed that way and look strange. But cyclop-less models like the SD are OK.

I second that. If you want a Rolex without cyclops lens, buy an Oyster Perpetual basic version, SD, Daytona or Yacht-Master II (also known as "Clown-Master").

Moreover AFAIK if you remove the lens or replace the glass and later on you give it to Rolex for servicing, they'll replace the glass by an original one. Rolex is - let's put it this way - tetchy concerning modified watches. AFAIK if you have a modified Rolex, don't give it to Rolex for servicing.
