They banned someone from WUS who raved about the quality of those on every forum.
Turned out he was the dealer  .

I thought it wasn't too bad, considering it's David Blunkett's first attempt at designing a watch.

"Haffstreuner" can be translated as a "lagoon vagabond" - doesn't really make sense in German either. :P

    Nomen est omen.

As I'm Dutch my joke would have been, "it must have been designed by Danny Blind" the former famous Ajax and Dutch international.

The knurled (and presumably rotating) bezel is a work of genius.

If the holes on the left were hexagonal - you could use it as a spanner.

    A REAL tool watch!

(and, yes it's ugly - blerch)

I think the name fits perfectly. It pretends to be something of interest, while having little meaningful content.

    Best wishes,

 That is by far the ugliest watch I've seen for ages.
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.

The holes could allow you to attach it to a keyring.... use them as promotional giveaways (and they'd work as long as you always wave your keys about).

Oh wait, they want you to PAY for them....

These will be great for your new urban influence line Eddie. It could be the PRS-Wanker.

    From their website

    Our history :
The brand Haffstreuner was founded in the heart of Germany, a country with a rich history of making watches.
The vision was to build up a company to manufacture unique German watches.
The ambition is to settle the technical design of centuries in past in alliance with the newest technique in such a manner as never shown before!
In a form of unique watch assortment, highest quality and design demands should be implemented.
The design should be inspirational in the style of old conventional techniques out of car-building; the car body shell and watch chassis should be set to a visible constellation.
As for the time being, a first series of 15 types is to become and therefore as an edition kept to a minimum and under strict privacy.
Only a selected clientele and their friends would receive the first collection!
Within a short time of period the first series was out of stock, but the demand of further watches and new models was greater as intended!
The concept has been accomplished and unstoppable.

Even allowing for possible failures in translation, that's the biggest load of pretentious bollocks I've read for some time... pompous bastards.

    Bloody ugly monstrosity...

Err sorry. Between collapsed lungs and attempted robberies I'm not in a very good mood at the moment

Well, maybe it can double-up as a gas meter
Rather similar with more 'tool' to the bell & ross, though with more in the mix.

It's the perfect name, I agree; it makes little sense of something of little sense.

    Best wishes,

    AP. :)

Their marketing budget clearly only stretched to a Babelfish translation :?

Can't help thinking about the name Hutschenreuter (those who speak German as a native tongue, correct my spelling if I'm wrong), when I see the name of this watch.
But I believe that is a famous German porcelain maker?

Can't wait for their second series........................ .

    Nice...

Its like a Uboat mixed with a Omega SM 600 , 2 PAMs and a transformer autobot, a key chain, probably a can opener somewhere in there too

I particularly like the way the minute hand reaches the hour track and the hour hand marks the minute track - very innovative. Also, the way the chrono sub-dials are crowded around the pinion, as if peeking in and wondering exactly what's going on in there. Or rather: who's in charge of this chicken-shite outfit and how do I get out of it?

This watch needs a nickname, like the "Black Monster", "Tuna Can" or "Ploprof" have. I'd suggest "Bezoar".

I wouldn't buy one, but does it indeed express moderne, confusing, techno industrial life with it's jumble of geometric shapes and gaudy paintwork?

The minutes ring inside the numerals is not matched by appropriate hand lengths or design, leading one to believe that the one in the picture is saying "2 past 50" , further expressing the confusion of moderne life!

That's as German as chicken Chow Mein.

speaking of ugly watches and along the same lines of this german thing did anyones see the ad in The Tory on Sunday mag Live! a couple of weeks back?? They did an "all you need to know" in the mag and there was some completely mad watch advertised, for the life of me can't remember the name but at best it looked like a cross between a kitchen clock (size wise) and something from a racing car instrument dial strapped to the wrists of the models..............totally outrageous and woeful looking.

  34. #34
    Hi,

a terrible watch. I would not wear this angular piece of metal. Is there a build in multi tool ? And a key-ring LED-light.

    Just awful.

Actually a bottle opener could probably be worked in as a crown guard for a watch for beach bums.

Perhaps you would have had at least one buyer.
 I'm (nearly?) always open to self-mockery and I stand by my taste - bad or good. Finally to me it's a fun watch, a kind of costume jewelry.
    http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... tal+design

I suppose the one you've posted has a quartz movement.

Uhr-Kraft in Germany offers a similar quartz chrono and a mechanical chrono with Chinese column wheel movement.

A very similar quartz chrono is also offered on the Internet with the brand name "Adee Kayee", but I haven't seen another mechanical variant yet.

Concerning the brand name and appearance on the market I appreciate Uhr-Kraft more than several other new brands because they use a modern name and don't simulate long tradition. Moreover they don't fog the movements origin.

Finally: To be serious, I'm sure this kind of watch or brand is not the right thing for your range and for your good reputation, Eddie. :)

Another brand out of the MSU (Schmidt GmbH) like Aeromatic 1912 and Tauchmeister 1937 Germany.
