What's the skx007 of dress watches?

Interested in hearing what people's thoughts on dress watches?

Is there a seiko skx007 equivalent in the dress watch world?

Lots of watch for a good price?
    Interesting history?
    Something a little different?

Any right of passage watches come to mind?

Bambino for VFM, The Visodate is a good watch but near £400 rrp, not exactly SKX007 money.

In addition to my Seamaster I also have this Heritage Conquest - a little out of the skx007's price range though

Available new of course but they do come up second hand. Mine came from SC!

I'm a big fan of orient watches, they do many varied styles and the quality is normally great. Easy on the wallet and they keep except time. I have a couple under the tree for next week I believe :)

The new "Bauhaus" style Bambino - It's incredible, given it's price point, in the flesh....

Sarbs proposed here are definitly great looking dress watches with great 6r15 movements, but at a higher price range than the skx. The 033 is very high on my list. IMHO the skx dress equivalent is the SNX115 or the SNX123. Same movement with the SKX, very affordable, great looks and built for their price.

First I thought Bambino of course but vintage Omega wouldn't be a bad choice either

Not sure it's really fair to compare a vintage watch with a new one, most SKX007s will be new (I must admit I struggled to work out what was so special about the SKX007), but I wouldn't buy any of the Orients personally, but do have a vintage Seamaster.

It's a bit eggs vs bananas though...

Maybe it's just my lifestyle, but I don't really have much call for a 'dress watch'.

I don't have one, but surely the SARB065 cocktail time?

Orient Star Classic. Smaller than a Bambino and a cut above in terms of quality. Great value too.

Gorgeous watch - but £400 odd quid puts it in a different price bracket to the 007.

Bambino is a great choice at a similar price range.

I suggested a Seiko watch, to stick to the brand, but probably I would choose the Bambino, too.

OP specified 'lots of watch for a good price' rather than 'same price as a SKX007' or 'cheap' so I think £400 is ok.

For me though 40mm+ isn't a dress watch.

I thought it was just me thinking this. Seems we're in the minority.

I've struggled to find a new thin 33mm - 35mm dress watch apart from a few Tissots and the Longines Heritage, so for classic dress watch looks, vintage Omega is one of the few options, and also in steel a lot of watch for the money.

Really lovely vintage Omegas. Here's a tidy little Cosmic at 36mm.

The SARBs are indeed the Sumos of dress watches. However, the SRP701K1 is very much a watch that sits between 5s and SARBs (£175ish) with cocktail time looks:

No in the wild shot as they're too big for me and I don't want to steal a pic but they look a lot better outside of stock photos!
