Looks great but that really stretches the line between Franken and FAKE
I hope it dosent turn up on ebay!!!!!
There were some talks about doing up a pilot watch the way one likes. I managed to get hold of a IWC Mk 15 dial and a Yao 48.
This is how it looks, foto is of low grade, taken with my mobile.

I have read somewhere about ppl who buy a real rolex and then proceed to transfer the dial to that of a fake so that the movement of the real thing can be preserved...
Bizzarre...
For what? I thought they were meant last forever. :?Originally Posted by calvinktlim
I think that looks very interesting - thanks for posting. It looks like the dial is a touch too small for watch watch - there seems to be a bit more space around the outside of the minute chapter. Looks good, though - how do the hands hands match the dial?
Me too. :(Originally Posted by VinceR

Every watch a story.
This is a project watch and I like the size and feel if a 40mm case in place of the 38 Mk15 offers.
The lugs are also "longer", the MKII case back is still there, no way it can be passed off as an IWC.
A fake would have the same case size and this does not.
Just like what expressed by some readers, the dial looks a little too small for the case, and any serious collector who will pay good money would likely know the differences.
Anyway, it is just what I like to have, a larger case Pilot watch with a nice IWC dial in the classic pilot style.
The line may be "too thin" between franken and fake, but a careful inspection would tell the different.
The case size and thickness is certainly a tell tale sign.
