  1. #51
Looking for a 34mm - 35mm diameter, yellow gold or steel, thin, three hand dress watch with date at 3 o'clock position.

Also thinking about an Explorer II black dial.

I fancy a CWC diver, probably quartz and maybe scratch my Rolex itch with a non date sub.

  8. #58
Maybe a little consolidation, then go on the hunt for a TV-dialled "Big Blue" Zenith. Or a Heuer Bund, which might take a bit more consolidation!

Possibly an explorer 39mm, although I would have to sell most of the existing collection to fund it.

Something like this. These dials appear to have been used by a whole range of manufacturers from around 1947 through to the late 1950s and the prices differ widely depending on how big the name is and the metal used in the case - prices seem to start at around £500.00 and can easilly rise to £10k (or over £100k if Rolex). The one below is currently for sale on a vintage website for £3.5k.

I would really want a Pam 88 but to be honest any Pam in 2016 would be awesome. I don't think I could convince her indoors why "Im buying another watch" but I always had in mind to own a tag, Bret, Pam, and Rolex. I have the first two and Im sure with a bit of pain I will get the last.

Noticed a Pam in SC yesterday @ £3700, just too soon for me unfortunately. I would buy that all day long ;(

There is one of those on SC but I think it is a later model with the white gold surround markers.

Probably one or two out rather than any in.

Will have to let some go to fund other needs and it's difficult to argue that having multiple versions of more or less the same watch is essential

I am looking for the same thing as last year, a Tudor 94010 (no date) like the one below except in blue. I would also likely settle for a 94010 Lollipop, as long as it is blue.

I think finding decent examples in top condition is the problem here and those invariably sell for the higher prices. You wouldn't want to buy a beat up model just because the price was right.

    Happy hunting.

... a tricky question. I have nothing expensive on my list, but recently I've started building a collection of vintage Citizen divers. Somewhat tricky to find in good condition. And spares are even worse! I guess I'll keep looking for those ... :-)

  33. #83
I'm after an Alfa Romeo GTV6 3.0 South African Homolgation. Does that count?

  34. #84
I'm not planning to buy any more watches, but I'm weak.

One of these at the right price

and I'm pretty sure my good intentions would evaporate pretty quickly.

Thanks, that's a bargain for someone :) I'm waiting for the funds from my SubC to come in (sold yesterday) and I'll be on the look out. Preferably 1985 with the white gold surrounds.

I'm making a personal rule to stop buying sub £500 watches like I buy bread. Nothing wrong with the watches, but they never stay very long so I need to learn to resist.

    Goals next year:

Speedmaster 1957 Broad Arrow Replica, on the bracelet obviously

Sinn EZM 2 because it's my idea of a perfect quartz diver, but not so easy to find now

And I soooo want one of these - tough, pretty, rare, perfect size. Hmmm....

Reasonably realistic goals, but will need to lose some first. Unfortunately this will be tough because I'm currently at peace with the collection. But never say never...

Still looking for a nice 60s Omega Seamaster DeVille in 9ct yellow gold at a sensible price.

New Year's resolution is to get ALL my vintage Omegas up and running, then start wearing the things!

I have loads of things I am keen to have

16710 Transition GMT (old case design, SELs, Non-trit dial). I will get one eventually, may not be 2016
    Lemania HS9
    EZM2
    Eberhard Cheftain Diascope
I will be getting the Anko in 2016 (and am unreasonably excited by that)
Some day I will find a Lemania 1/100th second quartz chrono
I still want a really early Lemania chrono - something 1930s I guess
I also need to finish off a Lemania custom project using a miniature 8-day travel clock movement.

I am just psyching myself up to make some more sales to be able to afford these things.

I have a shopping list that's growing and a budget that's shrinking....but if I could find one of these I'd be happy to start the year. I missed this one and have only found the date version since. A 90's Glashuette chrono:

I'm so happy with my latest purchases that I'm becoming a little obsessed by Nomos so my next will hopefully be one housing the new DUW3001 movement. Big bonus for me is that they are all sensibly sized at 36mm. I like the look of the Minimatik but I hope to see the 'automatik' range in the flesh some time next year but a purchase may not happen in 2016 though as I have to start saving again! Nice video of the movement here:

Have a Speedy under the tree, keep looking at Cartier tanks, but should probably save towards the 116610LV, but next week it will be a different list altogether:)

A vintage Tissot Navigator like this, posted by WVE60 in the current Vintage Watches thread. There seem to be a lot of different styles of Navigator but this combination of movement, case and handset looks perfect to me. I've only seen one other similar one for sale in the last 6 months.
