RIP to a cracking actor, bl***y cancer again.
Died today, had been suffering with cancer.
RIP to a cracking actor, bl***y cancer again.
Same age as Bowie too. The big C has a lot to answer for.

Jeez - not a good week!
What with him and Bowie, both aged only 69. I'm definitely retiring at the earliest opportunity - 69 is far too young!
:-(
Sad to hear of this, he was an actor I always enjoyed watching. :-(

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
RIP
Wonderful actor.
Having lost two good friends to Cancer, aged 42 and 46, I always recommend that people retire as early as possible. Go and enjoy life whilst you can
Great actor!
RIP
Some quality acting roles that I've enjoyed very much over the years.
Makes me think, that's quite a few very close to 70 +- year olds that are dying lately. Is 70 still an indicator of expectancy?
Actuually just looked it up - England, men 79.5; women 83.2
It's just a matter of time...
An excellent actor with a very varied career.
Like Bowie, sad to read of their passing; however, I have the feeling both of them made the most of the time they had.
RIP.
I was just saying to a guy in work yesterday, what a great actor Rickman was.

Such a gifted actor - such a wonderful voice and diction, and played a baddy so very well. All these greats are passing. Quality really is draining from the world and I don't see this being replaced.

hans gruber :(
RIP - Always a very watchable actor, even when deliberately Hamming it up.
Always loved his 'turn' in Dogma
Very sad, a hugely talented actor.
A perhaps lesser known role:

Brilliant actor - one of my favourites, and what an amazing voice!
Loved him in everything he did, brilliant as Gruber in Die Hard.
Eddie
Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Goodbye Hans Gruber :-(
A fine actor who stole many of his scenes, gone way too young. RIP.
Very sad - I'm just getting changed to attend a good friend and colleagues funeral at 4- cancer at 55:(
RIP Alan. An awful week for British talent.
That's a shame, a very fine actor.
RIP
Cheers,
Neil.
Great actor and my girls loved him s Snape and I always liked him in Galaxy Quest
One of the Uk's finest actors, he never seemed that old, was surprised to hear he was 69.
RIP Mr. Rickman
I thought he played 'Snape' so well in the HP films, a great actor. Sadly missed :(
2016 sucks so far.
Oh no!
He stole every scene he was ever in.
RIP the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Another great talent taken away from us.
scooter
Amongst such very sad sad news the Guardian's "looked back in languor" take on Alan made me smile

Sad news. A great actor and talented director. Always made me smile. Thanks for all the entertainment Alan. RIP.
Happy trails Hans!
:( RIP
Probably my favourite "baddy" actor. Hans Gruber/Sherriff of Nottingham RIP.
Sad news,in a very unpleasant way 69 is becoming the new 27.
RIP great actor
I'll give you the let"s one...
but it"s Brian Cant not Brian Can"t……….not a Playaway, Playschool kind of guy then
Cheers
Wayne
Wow.
Heard on the radio earlier.
He was superb in Die hard, he was a villain that you hated but kinda accepted he was cool.
The scene with Takagi was brilliant. The whistle, followed by the comments about the tailor, and then the quote he refers to
"And when Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer"
That line is up there with "like tears in rain", "get busy living, or get busy dying" or "I am your father" guaranteed to make me shiver.... And smile!
His Robin Hood turn was hammier but still genius, and his parody in Galaxy Quest as a thespian who hated his sci-fo alter ego was a cracker too.
It's been a shit week, and there's only one thing left to say.
Happy Trails, Hans........
Still struggling to come to terms with the loss of Bowie and now this, terribly sad and both way too young.
His finest performance, in my view, was as Obadiah Slope in the BBC production of The Barchester Chronicles.
