Swim watch - lap timer, length counter, performance analysis etc.

I'm looking for recommendations from those who have tried and tested one or more. Thanks in advance.

The wife swims 5 days a week and has been using a basic Poolmate for years. Functions are limited but it seems reliable.

She thought about moving to the Garmin Swim at Christmas but decided that its measurement approach might be different and she would loose the time series she has built up. Something to consider I guess when you are making a choice.

I use a Garmin 920XT. Might be a bit of overkill if you only swim as its a mainly aimed at multi sports but certainly very good for swimming, be it pool or open.

I gave up counting lengths ages ago when swimming as I always used to lose count! Now I just set the bezel on my watch and swim for half an hour and I m done
