It is getting somewhat painful isn't it. It's only a watch, and a very common one at that.

Still, he seems excited and that's always a nice thing to see.

It's all relative—I've only ever seen one other Sub in the wild, and believe me, I'm a watch noticer.

You needn't relieve yourself on OP's chips; I'm not so jaded a Rolexophile yet that I don't enjoy reading about the thrill of getting one.

Indeed, as per the second line of my post - it's nice to see some enthusiasm, even if it is a fairly standard watch (for TZUK). I am sure it's special for him - I still recall my first Rolex.

Picked up my 116613 LN this afternoon and I am delighted with it. First expensive watch I've ever owned, sorry to all the people who think it's just a plain watch and not very exciting, but I am really delighted with it. Wrist shot to follow even though "it's not necessary" thanks for all the guidance.

So for those (like me) that just cant keep up with all the Rolex code numbers, and have to google them, this is the one you ultimately went for?

Thought you had dismissed the TT's and were going for a plain old SS?

    Given where I live, I don't think that'll help...

And that's why it's easier to just say "SS sub date" etc rather than 1640016644whatever ;-p

    Congratulations anyway!

Great choice OP and I hope you love it as much as I love my 114060.

Nice one and a bloody good way to break the duck as it were.
I'm probably a couple of years away from getting a Rolex but have had a few middle-ish priced watches that would be considered nothing of the sort by the good members on here. Nevertheless price as always is relative and i'll be pleased to see said watch, well done sir.

Whether they're ten a penny or not, a new owner should be happy and excited with their purchase otherwise part of the ownership experience is tainted.

I drove from Manchester to Scotland to pick up a 114060 this week. Was ecstatic when I picked it up even though I've had many Rolex before.
