Thanks... that's exactly what I'm getting. Just the shorter version to avoid too much excess on my tiny wrist...

That GMT looks great on the Speedy, really suits it.
The Omega mesh is probably a fortune from Omega, other recomended places? On Ebay two good feedback sellers, swiss *limited* editions or jameschat7

I don't know but I find mesh unattractive... Just not my liking I guess...
I'm normally a nato fan, but the SMP is a watch I just don't think works on em.
Bracelet, chunky mesh, or rubber (preferable isofrane) looks best IMO.
OEM rubber is close to perfection in this case IMO.
Nato is ok, makes for a wonderfully light combo with the Ti SMP,
@S.L could i ask you to post a picture of the nato next to one of the bracelet? Also, the version you have looks so similar to the 2254 (same but with black bezel) what ref is yours? Or is a modified 2254?
And last, i might be in the minority here but i definitely prefer the nato to the rubber strap in this case.
I`m not a fan of Cousins but they do some excellent straps at very attractive prices. This is the one I`ve used on a black Bond SMP and the blue version would be equally as good on the blue models.

I have the ridged rubber strap for mine and and a really nice Omega 'gator strap but right now I have it on this lovely Stowa 'gator...
In the summer the bracelet fits me perfectly, in the winter it's a little loose, so then I tend to wear on blue leather, rubber or a Nato
From his pictures, I too though that S.L's watch had a black dial, but I did note the blue digits on the bezel. Can I ask if it might have been a 2232.80.00 rather than a 2231.80.00? My 2231.80.00 has, as illustrated in the link, a white line around the date window but S.L's does not, like the 2232.80 illustrated.
If Knisse is interested in the black dial versions, these are the 2031.50.00 and 2231.50.00.
I've just noticed my error. You correctly gave you watch's model number as "2231.50" and I missed the similarity to "2231.80" and so posted about the blue dial versions (and the black ones). Sorry about that.
The early black dial Ti SMPs had a blue-grey numbered bezel. They changed over to black in about 2007.
Note: As my penance I've been to the Fundraiser and made a donation. Just joking...my real reason was my 5k post.
I know this is an old post but I've recently purchased a 2531.80 and am interested in alternatives to the bracelet.
While I absolutely love the bracelet, it is in mint condition and I am looking at ways to keep it so.
I have just tried it on a leather NATO and can't decide if it looks right or not...
Anyone else have the SMP with an alternative strap they are happy with?

The one I recommended is this; https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/ha...-for-breitling
Cheap enough, it looks fine, and they wear well. I don`t believe in paying a lot for straps, they can become an expensive consumable (aka ripoff).

Personally I love the 2254 on a plain black nato, really makes the dial stand out (even more so).
Any of the previous watches mid sized?
If so what strap would you recommend?
Cheers.
Smaller version of the Cousins strap for £15 +VAT
I wore my full-size SMP black bond on the Cousins strap a couple of years ago whilst undergoing medical treatment in 2014. None of my bracelet watches fitted because my wrists had gone skinnier so I fitted a couple onto straps, that's how I stumbled across this one. Once I regained full health and got back in the gym etc my wrists went back to normal and all the bracelets fitted again; the sight of the watch on the strap brings back bad memories so I`ve no urge to swap it back!

I have been playing with my 2254 with the official Omega Bond strap. I'm still undecided though

Both my SMP are on Zulu 3 Rings and the rest of my watch apart from the G Shock...
Loving the strap ktmog - link?
Not at the moment but I'm thinking of trying the 2254 on a 20mm Omega shark mesh.

Love mine on the bracelet. It's far superior to that of my sub. Perhaps looks a little dated, but it's incredibly comfortable and wears really well.
Though I now have the rubber strap to try at some point, I have to say that I think it probably doesn't get any better than on the bracelet. For this version of the SMP at least.

Well this thread has certainly convinced me that SMPs look much better on a bracelet.
All IMO of course.

I'm rather liking this combination at the moment, one of Rev-O's 're-made' vintage military straps.
And here's a Bond pattern nylon pull-through.
Love the pictures
The Bond bracelet is the most comfortable I have ever worn and I've never worn either my SMP 300 or my Seamaster 120M on anything else.

Always felt that the Hirsch Carbon suited my SMP
