New Sinn 556i mocha and anthracite dials

It's not just the Explorer that's had a refresh. Sinn have released a new, classier version of the perfectly proportioned 556i.

    Read all about it here:

    http://wornandwound.com/2016/03/18/s...selworld-2016/

I really like both dials on the bracelet but I'm not sure about that whiskey coloured strap.

Just having a look on the Sinn website there is also a Mother of Pearl dial. Not sure if this is new as well.

Liking the absence of a date, even though the one on the 556a is pretty snazzy

The lighting on the Mocha variant makes it look stunning.

I very much like both. Any idea when these can be bought in the UK? And will these be stocked by the regular suspects?

The 856 B-Uhr was a surprise, just seems like unashamed bandwagon jumping.

They're already listed on Page & Cooper, though not sure about the other usual suspects.

I think I like the mocha dial best. The mother-of-pearl looks a bit feminine and I'm not sure about the extra text on the grey LE.

Surprised that the rubber and bracelet both cost the same, at a premium over the leather.

I've never tried a Sinn bracelet - how is the quality?

Really like both of these but the short hands bother me even more than on the normal model. Such a shame as I would probably get one otherwise.

Good quality, solid feel and well built (at least this one is):

I think it's the same one as in the link. I really like the Mocha one too.

Very nice Ben! Any indication as to how long it might take? Emailed P+C regarding availability but haven't heard back yet.

Ha! It's not due for delivery until the end of April so with my track record I'm likely to be waiting for it longer than I own it! :)

I've got this idea that the grey 556 is going to look so old and knackered, so once you've scratched the life out of it, please let me know

That gray dial with whiskey strap looks brilliant. I like the # of 1,000 on the rotor but the dates on the dial could have been done better, perhaps just 'Anniversary' would have been plenty...

Definately one im going to look out for though.

The 556 is a classic design and I think, unfortunately, that it works better in the utilitarian black/white.

I seem to have missed this in all the Daytona talk. Rather like the grey 556, may even have to source one. That split second chrono isn't too shabby either. Expensive though.

Just wondering if anyone has got one of these yet?

I am looking for something to scratch my Explorer itch but I'm not sure if this is the right watch.
    .
The drilled lugs, 200m WR and shock resistance make it robust and sporty enough but I think the dial and hands may be too dressy. I associate Sinn with tool watches so I'm not sure about this one .

A guy I know on another forum as bought one of the grey dial ones. He already had a white-dialled 556. He *really* likes it.

The white face LE is really nice as well (not the MOP one)
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Really like these 556s but the hands seem too short for the watch face or is that just me?

Yes, Jura, great watch, love it.

The dial colour and applied indices pushed me over the edge !!

That's really nice, yet another Sinn to add to the want list...

I used to like Sinn a lot, but man, do they ever have some dogs in their range these days. At least most of the 556 variations aren't too messed up.

You're not alone! They're a shade too short and a gnat's too narrow IMO.

I love them but I do agree with you about the hands and as much as I love the Mocha dial I just think the 556 looks better with the black dial and white hands and markers as I am just not sure about the silver hands on the new one as it makes a bit too dress watch for my taste but they are lovely watches.

These are stunning, especially like the grey dial.

I'd love one in addition to my 556i with the gloss black dial and printed indices, but not sure I'd "upgrade" to one of these. The standard one is more tool-ish, which I like.

I think I agree with you. I really like these limited editions but the silver dial and hands mean that it's neither tool nor dress IMHO.

Well now that I have one of these (I couldn't resist in the end!) I've decided that it's a dressy tool watch.

The hands are always extremely legible and don't look too short at all in real life.

I find it extremely versatile and there's not a strap I've tried that it hasn't looked good on - Di Modell rallye, Hirsh performance, grey Perlon and my current favourite, a chestnut brown shell cordovan. It could be a great daily wearer on the fine link bracelet. I'll try to sort some pics when I get a chance.

I think that this will scratch my itch for an explorer, more so than the Black Bay 36 that I was considering at one time. Get 'em while you still can!

Great stuff. Let's see some photos. A dressy tool watch sounds right up my street.
