Is the new change a good thing or bad thing?
Guess it depends on the watch and how it balances.
I have a 22mm dark brown jumbo in the mail, should get it soon.
I have just bought a 20mm black Jumbo. It is considerably thinner at the buckle end than at the lugs. I'd say 5+ mm at the lugs and 2mm at the buckle.
I have an older 20mm tan Jumbo that is 5+mm at the lugs and 3-4mm at the buckle.
Anyone else noticed this difference? Doesn't sound much but you really notice it on the wrist. I wonder if they have changed the design recently?

Bad thing IMHO, but that's probably just me. I forgot to mention that I have a 22mm dark brown too - that is the thick variety.Originally Posted by Lartymarf
Your 22mm jumbo also tappers a little towards the buckle ends correct?
I'm going to have to get used to the PRS-50 on a jumbo, since I'm coming from a mid sized james bond seamaster.
Yes. As far as I know the Jumbos go like so:
18mm - parallel with 18mm buckle
20mm tapers to 18mm
22mm tapers to 20mm
24mm tapers to 20mm (too much for me.)
I recently ordered a tan 20mm one of these for my prs-14. I am not very happy with it because of the 2mm thickness at buckle-end. It does not give enough watch head stability. If they have reduced the thickness, what a pity and I wonder why?
This is a tan 20mm I got a few months ago:
Nice and thick at the buckle.
Oh, excuse me, I meant to say the thickness at the buckle endsOriginally Posted by quoll

Ah. A little, but it is still pretty thick - 3-4mm or so.Originally Posted by Lartymarf

with a deployment on the jumbo? Or have read any comments
here on the forum from members regarding this?
I'm new to the forum and did some searches but haven't found
much... perhaps there are comments on this setup in previous
threads that you might have came upon.
I did read, however, that it might add too much thickness to the
already thick strap.
Tks.
i know its not a jumbo, but heres a deployant on a liberty same sort of thickness 4mm maybe give a rough idea how it would look?
clasp from Eddie, top one on this link.

Btw, replied to your PM. Also, is that the single fold or butterfly deployant?
Tks!
butterfly twin pusher type.

Well, I got to the bottom of it. Di-Modell changed the spec quietly about three months ago. They are all 'thin' at the buckle end now.
(With thanks to Ken Danks for the info.)
I bought three 20mms from Ken this week - my first experience of them. I quite like the 'thin' ends - makes it easy to buckle-up :wink:Originally Posted by quoll

I am very disappointed with the new spec Jumbo, after having one on a DA36 for some time I got a new one, thought I had just got a duffer but after reading this post I will not be getting another one......
I think the way it tapers makes it feel cheap and flimsy and spoils the looks too, any suggestions for a replacement?
Hi Phil,

Dave made a comparison between the Jumbo and the Hirsch Liberty.

Hi,
I've been using both of these straps over the last month on a Breitling Shark and a Sinn 103 and I completely concur with the last paragraph of the review. I've got a new style Jumbo and I'm afraid the Hirsch beats it in every department (apart from price, that is!)
cheers,
