    RIP Guy Hamilton

Director of Goldfinger (arguably the best Bond film of all time), Funeral in Berlin, Battle of Britain, Diamonds are Forevever, Live and Let Die (arguably Sir Roger Moore's best Bond outing), The Man with the Golden Gun (arguably the best bikini-clad Bond bird), Force 10 from Navarone, etc.

Made it to 93, so a better innings than most of the other recent sad losses.

    RIP.

Decorated war hero and all - dropped into enemy France and on the run from the Wermacht for several weeks. Would have been shot as a spy if they caught him. Later described it as being "on holiday" for a month.

    Quite a life. RIP
